got off work last tuesday. back started hurting. went to the river. hurt the entire time. went to the dr on sat. pinched siatic (?)nerve. down the right leg. some unbeleiveable pain!

taking prednisone now. no booze. fighing a head cold to boot, so no smoke. taking my fourth day off tomorrow. this truly sucks!

Yep Sciatic nerve pain is no fun but it doesnt last too long in most cases, give it a few days and you will be good as new. Mine acts up usually once a year for a few days.

sorry to hear....being a personal trainer and working in a Physical Therapy clinic I see this issue all the time.

The best thing you can do other than take the meds is when it starts to feel better make sure you stretch your glutes/hamstrings a lot. Also try foam rolling on your glutes/hammies/IT band. It wont fix it but it will help future flare ups!

the dr said it was a nerve, not the muscle. i would like immediate relief. he said chiropractor and/or massage won't do anything. has to get the inflammation down.

does anyone know differenlty?

If it is just the nerve, the steroid should have helped. Is the pain more in your butt or the back of your leg?
