Okay folks, the new year is almost upon us! It's time to start thinking about what new things we want to do next year, or what things we want to chance. I'm talking tobacco-wise, here, of course!!

I'll start :)

1) Finally try out a pipe. Been wanting to do this forever, I think I've waited long enough! I'll be looking for a pipe and starter kit soon.

2) Buy far fewer cigars in 2012. I tried this for 2011 and failed miserably, lol. I've resolved to always try a 5er first (and I mean smoke nearly 5 cigars, not buy a 5er and smoke 1 then buy a box, lol).

3) Sell/trade off a lot of my sticks. Since I know I won't be able to stop buying new stuff, I need to be better about compensating for that by selling off some of my stash.

4) Revisit brands/lines that I haven't smoked in a while. I have found that my palate has developed a lot this year, and have had some pleasant (and some not-so-pleasant) experiences with revisiting old favorites as well as sticks I'd decided I didn't care for. I want to do that more regularly this next year (and then sell/trade the ones I'm not into anymore).

So how about you guys? Any New Year's Resolutions?

i look forward to 2012 when i can sponsor on the newb trade thread, and bomb the crap out of people on their way in the door.

i will have my cabinet built and operational by the end of the first quarter.

i will trade more for things i have yet to try, and will go out of my way to trade with people who have not tried anything i may have.

i will use "gibblesnitch" in a sentance before the new year, just to get it off my chest. check! o)

i will hook a buddy up with his first humi, and gently nudge him towards the edge of the slippery slope.

good start, anyway!

My Cigar resolution is to find more time to smoke! I only smoke once or twice a week because of a lack of time. I have to solve this....

Absolutely this...

Winter here sucks. If we got some decent snow fall, I'd actually welcome that. But cold/grey/wet for 5+ months really sucks any enjoyment out of smoking outdoors...and 90% of the time, that's where I'm smoking.

All the more reason to focus on craft beer during winter! :stretchgr

My Humi has seen quite the transformation in 2011.....in with the cubans, and out with the non. My resolution for 2012....buy/sell less, smoke and age what I already have.

Quit smoking cigars.

....ha, no way. This next year I want to find a place where I can comfortably and casually smoke whenever I can. Right now it's such a pain to light up!

My only plan for this year is to get the vinotemp setup for being with us long term in the new RV. I know we are going to add a second A/C to keep it's temps in line, and might have to get a generator to run the A/C's while traveling. I just want to focus on them having storage with consistant temps/humidity. I need to secure the thing in, so it doesn't keep falling over when I move.

Great thread, thanks...

1- Get my little cigar den set-up and running tight...I need to find out the real deal on whether or not to get an ionizer or smoke eater, etc.
2- Buy more regular production stuff and save and age the 'goodies'
3- Actually stay on budget.
4- Start smoking a nice pipe- which I have been thinking about for awhile.
5- Not buy ANY cigars out of hype- sometimes I get caught up in it.
6- Call my cigar anonymous sponsor more often :)

1- Build a 3rd cooler
2- fill that cooler with Habanos (need to get up to speed on these)
3- actually buy boxes and not open them. I need to do better at aging cigars
4- stop chasing LE's (actually started this a little already) Have to quit buying boxes blind.
5- develop a plan to pay off the credit card
6- lay off the craft brew. You guys got me started on that slippery slope as well. Now I'm 20 pounds heavier (maybe I can just workout to balance that on second thought)

- i want to stop trading for CCs and dive in head first. its box time.

- i want to not be taken in by sales and discounts. I will only buy cigars i respect because i want that cigar. not cigars i am "ok" with and are on sale.

- i want to get rid of some of the stuff i dont like in my humidor.

- i want to build a smoking lounge in my attic (the wife may have something to say about THAT one)

Just one. Since I now live in the middle of the country, (Kansas), I would really like to meet more folks from this board face to face and have a smoke.

Finish the Lounge.
Start a family.
Maybe smoke a few more NC's lying around from 08, 09.
Everything else has seemed to taken care of itself as far as not buying LE's/RE's of ANY kind, not chasing a band that after all is just tobacco.
