Founders KBS Release


Heads up: The KBS release party will be held on Saturday, March 10, at Founders taproom.

The beer will be available distribution-wide beginning on Monday, March 12.

What we've got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight.

This is one of the proverbial White Whales of craft brew....

Heard its even difficult for people in MI to get a decent stash (more than a 4 pack or 2)...

I missed out on the 2011 batch, but hoping for some 2012.

The 2010 release still has plenty of legs, that's for sure. This is just a dynamite beer.

It is released once a year in the month of March only. It will not be easy to get this release, not impossible but definately not that easy.

Not as hard to find as regular "Breakfast Stout" but probably as difficult to find as "Canadian Breakfast Stout!"

My area got so little of the 2011 release that most places would only sell one bottle per person!

I was just at my beer store yesterday talking with my beer guy.

They usually get a few cases in and starting February there is a wait list. First come first serve 4 bottles per person. If any is left it goes on the shelf, 2 bottles per person per day.

Needless to say I'm going on the list ASAP.

I picked up a 4pk at a beer tasting and love it!!! If I would of known its a HTF I would of bought more.. Still haven't finished my 4pm yet!!

I guess I may be sad when it's gone and can't get more..

I was able to get a 4 pack last year. It is an astounding beer. There is a new liquor store that is specializing in getting hard to find beer. They got 4 four packs of CBS but I missed out as they sold in 45 minutes.

CBS was only available in 750 ML bottles. Wasn't under the impression they packaged those in 4 packs. I was able to get 1 bottle and drank it on Thanksgiving. Very good beer. A little sweeter than I'd have preferred but worth experiencing

You're right CBS was just in bombers. The KBS are in the 12's. BTW, BS still avail. Imperial Stout FLEW off the shelves. I talked to the guy at total wine, they went through 52 cases over the weekend (they sold out). G1
