After submitting my last term paper, I realized last night that I was half way done with my master's degree. I promptly began partyin':

It wasn't much. I grilled the family some steaks and enjoyed what I like to call a "Grill-gar" with a beer. (Standing in a cloud of charcoal smoke kinda wrecks good cigars.)

Cascadian Dark ale.....it is a stupid thing the pacific northwesterners have been trying to get it as an official style guideline...with lots of silly to me reasons....

Ugh... well, there you have it.

Interesting enough, the Black IPA story was told to me like this:
Port Brewing approached the Liar's Club (now defunct) back in '05 or '06 to brew their anniversary beer. Louis (the owner) said "yeah, uh... give me a, uh... a Black IPA." And the brewer said "No such thing." So Louis said, "there is your challenge. You can brew us our Anniversary beer if you can come up with something that you can call a Black IPA." This gave birth to the Port Brewing "Black Lie" - Liar's Club anniversary beer - which then was appropriated by Stone and then everyone else. I am pretty sure Stone's SSR has been around for 5 years or so now.

When I first read this I thought it said "Halfway to MA" I was thinking "Ohh snap Seans coming to New England, lets party!"

Oh Well

Good stuff!
Dude... I love Rhode Island. I wish I was coming out. All your posting about lounges in your area has me hankerin' for some Queso Sao Jorge and some Churico...
