In my opinion, you have to look at Viaje much like you do a CC concerning age, they aren't a good fresh cigar. If you aren't willing to put at the very least a year, if not a couple of years, on them then they aren't the stick for you.

I hear what you are syaing. My beef is that my budget doesn't really allow for me to spend money on cigars I can't smoke fairly soon. Like I can't spend 10-12 on a smoke I have to wait years to smoke. Anyways, I don't want to derail this topic any more than I already have.

Carry on......

I hear you there, bro. It's sometimes quite frustrating to buy a cigar and know you have to wait so long to enjoy it, especially since two fivers are the same price as a box of good smokes.

Exactly. Just can't justify it in my book.

Anyone tried these yet? I'm curious to see if these taste like any of his previous blends or something completely new

I had one yesterday and it was a departure from most of his other stuff. I liked it but I really would like another try at it.

My problem with Viaje over the last year or so is how these cigars have let me down. First of all most have the same flavor profile no matter what new name there sold under and the price tag per cigar has been a big issue with me when it comes to his smaller cigars. I'm not trying to bash Viaje just stating my views of it's marketing campaigns. I still will smoke a Viaje from time to time but I haven't been in a heated rush to buy one since the DES which I found was the best Viaje I've had to date. For me if I get one I get one...but I'm not chasing.

^ I was where you are for well over a year. I've always liked some (S&B, 50/50, Reserva, Platino Lancero, and of course the HB 2009), but most of the others had been lackluster and left me feeling like I over-spent on them. Then over the last year they came out with several releases that I REALLY liked. Particularly the Exclusivo Lancero, Late Harvest 648, and Super Shots (aka Shotgun Shells). Those were all top-shelf cigars for me personally, and I'm still looking to score more Late Harvest.

So because of that, I really want to try the HHG and 5th Anni.

Sent out a few PM's to those trying to hunt these down, good luck, :D

What, I did not get a PM:cryloud:. All good, I gleamed the name off the bag and googled it. I also found a few places that have them. Guess I'm waiting for my usual online outlets to get some. All in good time:yes:.

Thanks, Engen. I may run over there tonight. You a member at the Montecristo? I haven't been in the shop for a couple years, but I recall them as being pretty high, but offered a member discount?
