Can you recommend some rich and mellow cigars that might be a good fit for me to try? I've been looking at ordering a la duena to try since i read that was developed for a woman.

I had looked into some of the flavored cigars, but overall the reviews seem to be disappointing.

Are the liquor cigars the same as flavored cigars?

in my opinion, these are all big flavor without big power (to me at least)

-la riqueza
-cabiaguan
-fuente magnum R
-oliva V melanio
-oliva connecticut reserve
-flor de las antillas

as for lflavored or infused, only you can make that call. i would suggest against, but that's me... also, the spirit cigars, like "makers' mark", ARE infused.

sounds like you have a LOT of ground to cover ahead of you, hope you enjoy the journey! o)

The La Duena is a good choice. I'd recommend picking up a single from your B&M before you buy a ton online. They are, for the most part, a medium smoke. For flavored cigars the only one that I would ever recommend is the Drew Estate Java, the rest are just to sickeningly sweet and artificial tasting.

I think the Illusione Epernay line could fall into this category. Awesome flavor and right about medium body

In my opinion, you may want to start with the NUB series. Try the four NUB staples (Cameroon, Connecticut, Habano, Maduro) in maybe the 460 or Torpedo vitola. Try at least two of each relatively close together and that should put you on the right path toward a flavor profile you really enjoy.

That seems to be helpful for a lot of new cigar smokers starting their journey.

I keep several man o war virtues on hand just for when I'm feeling like something on the lighter side. But trying new things is half the fun of this life :) Get a couple of some things that have been recommended or try something just because the band strikes your fancy. At best you find something you like, at worst you get an idea of what you don't.

Cheers :ccool:

Another cigar you may want to look at is the Perdomo Champagne or ESV. The Joya De Nicaragua Classico or Cabinetta are good as well.

All the recommendations here are great. I usually give people something like a La Riqueza, Epernay (round--the fat box press sticks are more like medium), Perdomo ESV or even Champagne if they want something with very little strength. The EPC New Wave and Core Line are also good choices (core line is closer to medium strength)

If you want to try some infused sticks, the Java, Tabak Especial, and CI Legends Copper (from cigarsinternatoinal) -- all Drew Estates cigars -- are probably the best. You could try the ACID line, but they are too "perfumey" for my tastes. There is NOTHING at all wrong with infused cigars.

Cremo Classic, Serie V is nice and rich, Reserve Real from RyJ is pretty mellow. Hard to say since I love very strong smokes.

To reiterate some of the cigars already mentioned

Quesada Espana (Corona, although personally I think the short robo is a very close second) and Jalapa (Belicoso)
Cabaiguan

and to add:
The Herrera Esteli Toro is mellower than the thinner HE's IMO, but still rich. Might be a tad stronger than the others though
Arturo Fuente Don Carlos (prefer the lancero, but that is a little harder to come by)

also heard good things about the EPC short runs, but have yet to try the few I have sitting in my humidor. This is a good reminder, I think I'll move them to the top so I remember to smoke them soon :)
