I have a buddy from work that wants to hand out approx 200 cigars at his wedding. Probably a mild-medium toro size with custom bands. Anyone ever done this type of thing before? Any suggestions?

Did not know about it till after my wedding but some local shops that have in house rollers will come and cater your event. Prices are not too bad and they fresh roll cigars for your guests right in front of them. Always thought that was a cool idea and wish I knew about it then.

I had cigars at my wedding last September. Here is what I did:

- I got a three bundles of 50 Alec Bradley and Oliva seconds (Maduro / Claro) and put them in a big humidor and it was a self service grab and smoke thing.

- Because I also had some serious cigar guys there, I put another smaller humidor filled with Premium stuff with the bartender and let word get out to those that would know what they were looking for.

By the end of the night, all 150 of the seconds were gone.

It seemed to work great and all our guests were happy and it didn't completely break the bank providing cigars for all our guests.

Are they to hand out as momentos for people to take home to smoke, or is the reception outside where people can smoke right away? Reason I ask is toros are pretty big and take some time to enjoy and if people have to leave the inside reception area to go outside and smoke, you are splitting up the party. Of course if it is outside, that is not a concern.

Thanks for the ideas guy. They are a take home and smoke or save thing I assume. What about adding personalized bands?

Brilliant idea!

Getting a decent bundle would be my recommendation as well. AB, Oliva, or bundles like Oba Oba or Casa Garcia are all good enough to please most palates without breaking the bank at all. And I love the idea of "letting the word get out" if serious smokers wanted something more premium.

King Kill 33,

L8A is right, we can do the bands and the cigars. It is a 3 week process, but if need be we can rush that a little bit. The link provided shows the cost of a nice mild cigar that is budget friendly, but we can custom band any cigar we have in stock. If you would like we can send you a quote, all you would have to is let us know what cigars you would like to use, quantity and a general idea of what you would like on the bands. You can email that to sales(at)emersonscigars(dot)com

You can see examples of bands and more info here http://www.emersonscigars.com/storefront/cigar_band.aspx

It says you have three cigars to choose from, but only one is on the order form. Do you guys offer a Maduro?
