But I don't understand the concept: make a cigar that's just like previous Avions, switch production due to "confusion" over wrappers and sell the first batch as a limited edition -- albeit labeled as FF. Ok, got it.
There could be several scenarios but i think it was something like this.
Rollers start rolling the Avion, Pete and company look/try em and think, maybe we should try this with broadleaf, since we have some nice wrapper available now, they stop the rolling, which at 750 sticks has to be under a day, They make available to Tatuaje fans, the pre-release sticks as we're always looking for variations of different blends. Package them with the experimental band and voila.
IMO these aren't true FFs more of a PCHM (Pete Changed His Mind) stick as the roll is consistent with the Avion and there are no issues (ie wrapper too light)
Don't think he set out to have these as a LE, more that he wanted to let Tatuaje fans have a different stick. Believe me, he could have just kept em in his walk in and used em as an event stick or just as a house stick.
