Terrible Feeling

So, my buddy had ordered some Black Dragon Fury when we first got to country but he had no way of humidifying them. That being the case, they dried out to an extent. I took a couple under my wing and tried to nurse them back to health and decided today I would try and smoke one on my guard shift. Not good. One of the worst feelings for me as a cigar smoker is the feeling of the wrapper cracking in your hand. It feels like a precious egg is just falling apart. I tried smoking it anyway...and it tunneled on me. Oh well for that. But let's share the worse feelings we experience as smokers.

To be fair, even though the Black Dragon is one of the few Gurkhas that I think are smokeable, the cracked wrapper very well could have happened even if it was kept in perfect conditions!

About a year ago for some reason I thought it would be a wise idea to put a 65% Rh Boveda pack inside a box of Feral Pigs. Well the pack got squeezed too tight and sprung a leak, getting Boveda juice on 3 of the cigars. I tried to clean them up by wiping them off with Distilled water and they seemed to be Ok but when I tried to smoke one it became obvious that they were not. I had even let them sit for 6 months before I tried to smoke one, hoping that they would dry out but even after that amount of time part of the cigar that had come in contact with the Boveda juice just did not burn right. As I should have expected it also screwed up the flavor so I ended up MU-ing the one I tried to smoke and pitching the other 2.

It's a sad day in my world when I have to throw out $50 of HTF cigars due to my own stupidity.

lol@Matt...very true. @Rupe, my stomach turned reading that. That would be a "leave Daddy alone" day for sure...I didn't even get an inch into the Dragon. But as previously mentioned...no big loss there lol

The terrible feeling for me is when I light up a smoke that I know I am not going to enjoy because my day has gone so terribly wrong. I sometimes do it in the hope that it will straighten it up but sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. I really think a good part of smoking a cigar is being in the right mindset.

The worst feeling ive felt while smoking a cigar. Hmmmm.

I smoke cigars while riding my bike. One afternoon I had to grab clutch and front brake due to sudden stop of traffic and my cigar fell cherry end down. Luckily the cigar was saved by my crotch as it proceeded to wedge itself between da boys and my leather seat. Burning my seat and well da boys didnt feel so good either.

Try drinkin something sugary next time you get that feeling. Within a couple minutes I usually feel okay. Happened to me during my first fausto. That buggah is strong.

Smoking a mild cigar but not chucking it cus it cost you money. Looking at said mild cigars in my humidor and the waste of space that they are.

I once took 5 cigars to a housewarming and passed them out amongst friends. Everyone's smoked fine except mine. It was plugged all to hell.

How about leaving the house with a smoke and finally getting a chance to enjoy only to find out you have no source of fire and no one is around you to borrow from...that sucks

What does muing mean?

I dont' mind a lot of the gurkhas, but i can tell you all of my black dragons on cbid and most of my gurkhas from there would crack within 10 minutes of smoking...
