Hey guys,
I'm Pete. Originally from Long Island, now living upstate in Orange County NY. (little over a year)
Got into cigars about four or five months ago, not really sure why. I guess the wide variety and exclusivity-feel of it all attracted me. I used to think that the only things out there were Cohiba, Montecristo, and Black-n-Mild. (well, not literally, but comparative to what is out there... that is how it would have seemed).
I'm a blue-collar type of guy (not like Jeff Foxworthy -- but I like working with my hands). Right now I'm a Wreckmaster certified "Towing & Recovery Specialist". (why not? since mechanics are Service Technicians, I might as well be a Tow Engineer.)
Former cigarette smoker of 12 years... quit when I finally got up to 3 packs/day three years ago. Switched over to an electronic cigarette, which I still enjoy daily... I used to be very big on all the latest e-cig mods, juices, legislation... but kinda dumbed-down my activity in that community... I had got off the smokes and the gov't is ultimately going to do what it wants regardless of how many assemblymen are on our side. (at least that was my thinking).
I got drawn in by Drew Estate ACID Cigars... vaping on raspberry and other sweet flavors sort of put me in line for those cigars I guess! I do have 2 small humidors, the bigger of the two has non-infused cigars in it, and it is PACKED. (thanks evil CigarBid.Com)
So here I am.. third forum I've signed up for in a week, feeling my way around this community, trying to see what's what! My palate isn't really all that developed in regards to cigars, so I've been messing around with the best I can get under $6/piece on CBid. Actually $6 is high.. I usually spend $2-3/per.
I'm on Instagram (same username) and I take a bunch of cigar pics.. not sure why about that either.. just something to do, I guess! When you work 40 hrs a week and you're on-call 5 nights a week, it's tough to find things you can do that don't get interrupted! That said, I try to stick to a Robusto size cigar because I'd hate to throw out a Churchill less than half-way through.
That's about it! Thanks guys for reading!..
::edit:: while I do like my Robustos, I have to say I think the Lancero is a pretty damn cool vitola!
