so, due to a recent facelift in the USPS home page, the option for "signature required" on click'N'ship labels seems to be the default option now. as we collectively make up about 27% of the USPS's click'N'ship business (or at least it feels like it!), PLEASE check your labels while you are making them, and before you ship, if you do not intend for this service to be applied. as someone who has been on both sides of this recently, it is an avoidable, but admittedly small, aggravation.

happy shipping, people! o)

Sean, I checked yesterday on my USPS account and it didn't seem like it was the default on mine. I shipped this morning, and checked again. Is this where you are talking about? It was unchecked.

at the very bottom there is an option to select signature confirmation, but I printed out a couple labels earlier this week and I made sure that wasn't selected and when the label printed it still said signature required. However, I printed a label last night and I did the same thing and the label did not say signature required. My guess is that it also might have something to do with the amount you claim it to be worth as to whether they make it signature required (which might be different than the signature confirmation option)

yeah, my thought as well. but i usually claim $10 or $20, just to discourage curiosity. and yet i have had a couple recently get sent out WITH sig required. figured if i posted, we would brainstorm, and find some resolution.

maybe it was an error and has been fixed. the label I printed last night didn't have it either. I asked my mail lady about it earlier this week when I tracked her down for a missed package (She's nice and doesn't mind me finding her later in her route) and she didn't know, when she scanned the package she even said her scanner didn't say a signature was required (which it should when one is) even though the label said it.

Aw man, I never looked at this with my labels I printed the other day. Thanks for the heads up Sean, there is your lotto winnings package headed to you, so I guess that will let me know if it was a sig required or not!

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
With the package the pipers recently sent me, Hoshy claimed a value on it and I had to pick it up (I have signed a waiver for USPS to leave all packages)
The clerk told me if the claimed value is over $100, they won't leave it, even if you've signed the "leave it" waiver.
