Yep, three times in a ROW! I couldn't believe it. First two grand prizes were the Liga Pravada 9 pewter ash trays, some sticks, shirts and ball caps. When I won the last one they put a mic in front of me and all I could say was 'WOW, third win in a row". The looks I got from the crowd was funny, they weren't amused.

On top of that, I'm a pipe guy. I smoke cigars occasionally. So the hard core cigar guys were like WTF man!

The pictures from the last Drew Estate Cigars : The Rebirth of Cigars event at Michaels Tobacco have been posted. I was lucky enough to win the Grand Prize (3rd time in a row). Won a box of Liga Privada Cigars 9, 48 count box. Was able to have my picture taken with Marvin Samel! Check out the pictures from the event!

They are tasty sticks! Marvin said they were from the original batch that was produced in 2007. I don't know the history of the line but on that note they are nicely aged sticks. He said that the box was from when they were originally released, they came in the 48 count boxes. He said that a similar box had gone for $2,800 (for a good cause) at a auction they had at previous event. I didn't have a place to store them at home so I've rented a box in the humidor at the store to store them in. I'm guessing that I should buy a humidor for home some day, lol.

Congrats on the awesome win, but with that said, from mine and many other's experiences, 9s don't age very well. They tend to mellow out way too much after a couple years. If you are into mild cigars, you'll probably enjoy these very much. But, if you decide to trade or sell these, please let folks know that they are 7 years old. Some may not care, others will.

That is the second box of those original releases they have given away in the DFW area in the past couple of months. How many of those OR boxes are sitting around?

I might have had a few old 9s and maybe a box like he won and I find them fantastic with that kind of age. (Again, I'm talking pre-2010 liga so if you are speaking about the later ones, I have no experience with those.)

and Congrats to the OP on the win.

In Keller, name plate Stinkynavel. LOL
Nice...

As a side note, there really isn't a need to purchase a humidor, you can buy a Tupperware container, throw in a few Boveda packs, and you're good. Cost is a lot less expensive than a locker at Micheals...

Or, since I have room in my tupperdore, I'll rent you space for a lot less as well... :)

I mean, what are brothers for???
