Another ice rain day. I need a break from this snow/ice snap year so I can fix my truck and now van lol. Both of them hate the cold. So now smoking some Molto Dolce in my IMP Meerschaum. Then back to the van for tracking down wiring problem. Enjoyable day so far. Just cold out. Coffee is Starbucks pike place hot passed through a French press.

I have had varying degrees of success and failure with fold and stuff. So far the flake I have found that behaves best for me is PS Luxury Navy Flake with Orlik Golden Sliced coming up second. The worst burning fold and stuff flake for me has been Petersons Irish Flake.

This is exactly my experience, too. The odf and fvf , I pulled it out when I woke up with my wife. After I made her breakfast/coffee/took my shower (~1hour) I packed my pipe. It was a little wet and bit slightly in mid bowl, so I'm going to try overnight next time.

First bowl of C&D Night Train in a Savinelli Alligator. This is interesting tobacco. It comes in a pressed cake brick but does easily rub out. While I wouldn't consider the flavors complex, it's a smooth consistent flavorful smoke.

Good to know. I'm finding the C&D tobaccos to be all over the map with some being excellent and others really lackluster

The only other C&D blend I think I have tried is Billy Budd. While I don't hate it, it's not one of my favorites. I enjoy it much more if I mix it with some PA.

Edit: I take that back. I have smoked some Old Joe Krantz, November Tobacco of the Month. See my full review in that thread, but long story short I was not a big fan.
