So far, I've made a point to be sure I keep all the sticks I've received from the brothers here (or elsewhere) through bombs, NHIE, MAW, etc. I always label them so I'll know who to give thanks to when I toast it up. My belief is if a person took the time to pick out and send me a certain stick(s), that cigar deserves to be burned by me. Just wondering what everybody's personal take on this topic is. Thoughts?

I think it is definitely bad form to re-gift sticks. If someone gifts you something you already have and you gift one of yours then i would think that is acceptable imo.

Same for me I label 95% of my sticks and try to make sure I never gift them. Even if I have the same ones in my humidors I make sure to grab the ones I own.

It's usually not good form to regift or rebomb, except in the case of getting permission from whoever sent them to you. I know I've been contacted and asked if someone could rebomb or share something I sent. I've never said no. If you get a smoke in a bomb you've tried before and didn't like, generally people are okay with you giving it to CFW or another worthy cause.

I agree with the comments above, there are smokes I've been bombed that I have already that I bought. Since I label every thing, I just make sure to bomb out what I bought.

Just my opinion.

Indeed, would be a tad uncomfortable to have a recipient post up a image of a bunch of sticks another brother just sent to you. Having a wide variety of sticks in your inventory, one will surely get something they already have. But like others said, when Im in same situation I give away the ones I bought and burn the ones gifted to me,

I have very few sticks I couldn't smoke and the ones I have I'm letting sit. Who knows maybe I'll like it one day??? Honestly I'm totally fine with people refitting things I've sent just can't do it myself lol.

I think if you know you dislike the smoke and wouldn't enjoy it then it is exceptable to give it to someone that will. Letting the person know that gave it to you is a separate issue. I have seen people appreciate the honesty and I have also seen people get extremely mad. I don't really have that much of a problem because I can enjoy most cigars and have very few I dislike.

I remember a thread like this before and at that time I was of the mindset that you don't knowingly regift bombed cigars.... Ever. That being said, nowadays once I bomb someone they are free to do whatever they wish with the cigars. If I pulled a handful of cigars that don't satisfy the recipient and they want to pass them to someone who will share, then oh well. Call it paying it forward. I have sent out a lot of Cigars and have seen some shit I would consider a bit shady done with said sticks, but I am still sending out cigars. Life's too short to worry about the little stuff.

Or an entire package like that? Do you just keep and not regift? It would make sense to give to someone who may appreciate it.
I agree.
I appreciate any gift, especially smokes from another BOTL. But if I get a stick that I have had previous experience with and know that I will never char it, I'd rather give it away than toss it.

I think everyone has there own way of doing it. I say as long as you arent selling your bombs and giving them to good causes (CFW or Wantacigar cause he appreciates and smokes everything so bomb him anything you dont like) It shouldnt be an issue or a problem with the gifter. For example I dont smoke candelas after trying 2 I would rather give them up to someone looking for them than to throw them away.

i personally try to hold on to all the sticks that are gifted to me, but if i send you something. your free to do with it as you please. smoke it. pif. hell make lincoln logs out of them. (i just ask you don't sell them)
Hell half the fun of a bombing run is picking the target, figuring out the delivery and fanning the flames. Misinformation is always fun as well.

If you know it's not your favorite stick, it was still a gift you don't regift. But if your hanging out with friends and one of them forgot to bring a cigar maybe they will like the cigar you don't. At least you are "using" the cigar in that case.
But Jim has a good idea of sending them to a worthy cause. Just seems like etiquette to smoke something you've been given haha.
I was working up at the resturant I serve at, and this drunk guy I see alot hands me a really crushed up macundo, I think he had with him golfing. I appreciate the gesture and even though the cigar is pretty wrecked I will find some occasion for it. Just a gesture thing.

I would also like to state that seeing a stick for sale that is the same brand as the one you gave does not necessarily mean that was the gifted cigar. I have seen a lot of people fight and lose friendships online over an assumption that turned out to be just that. A Fuente was gifted and 3 months later same guy buys a fiver and a month later the friend sees the same stick for sale. Then he freaks out...

A cigar bomb is a gift. I think of it like I do any other gift. As long as the recipient isn't being disrespectful in their conduct,
I don't really care what they do with it. Once I've given the stick, it belongs to the recipient. They can do with it as they choose.

Of course, a bomb is given with the intent that the recipient will enjoy the cigars sent. I try to honor that sentiment both with cigars I send, and cigars I receive.

But if I sent you a cigar that you know you don't like, or have a bunch of already, I'd be glad to know you paid it forward to someone who would appreciate the stick, be it a buddy, another BotL, or a soldier overseas. Cigars are for smoking, no sense it in languishing in the bottom of your humidor forever just because someone gave it to you.

If you have a financial hardship and decide to sell the stick I gifted you, you have my blessing. I know not everyone feels that way, but I see no reason for someone in financial difficulty to hold into valuable cigars out of respect while he can't afford rent or dr bills or whatever.

Just don't post an ISO for a rate stick at MSRP, then turn around and sell it at a high markup, taking advantage of generosity for personal gains.

Bottom line: a cigar bomb is a gift, not some sort of "you must personally smoke this" contract. As long as your actions are respectful to the giver, it's all good in my book.
