#2 today

Day 1: Lost City
Day 2: Fausto
Day 3: La Riqueza
Day 4: Cabaiguan Guapos
Day 5: La Casita Criolla
Day 6: Tat Red
Day 7: Tat Brown, 7-20-4
Day 8: Opus X PL, La Palina Black PL

I've had this stick before, and I'm not sure if it's the fact that I smoked a medium-full, perfectly smooth and balanced Opus PL earlier today... but this La Palina is FULL at first light. I don't remember it being quite this bold. The other stick was gifted so I suppose it's possible it had some age on it?

At any rate. Perfect draw. Shiny black seamless wrapper. That classy-as-shit La Palina band (with cummerbund). Firm --but not too tight of a pack (my favorite kind). Feels weighty in the hand, so you feel it won't be a short smoke despite its slight length and girth. Like you're getting your money's worth. What's worse than lighting up an $11 stick that feels like nothing in the hand, and then it burns in 30 minutes?

I must be heavily influenced by the dark oily wrapper because all I WANT to taste is molasses. Smoked molasses and heavy tobacco. Not for the faint of heart.

Really good smoke production.

Lancero February:
Stick #1: L40 by Drew Estates
Stick #2: 2014 TAA by CyB
Stick #3: 2012 Illusione Holy Lance
Stick #4: DPG Original Blue
Stick #5: Room 101 Master Collection One Mutante

Todays stick is the Mutante from Room 101 Master Collection One.
This stick has a wonderful dark Mexican San Andres Ligero Rosado wrapper and just looks great.
Right off the bat I get nice heavy earthy flavor with a bit of roasted coffee. This is probably the 4th or 5th one of these Ive enjoyed, and I like it.

Nice plumes of smoke release from the mouth after about a medium draw. The mouth feel afterward is superb, with a nice feeling in the back of the mouth remaining for some time. The retrohale is a tad spicy, not peppery, just a bit of spice. By the second half though most of the spice is gone, and the retrohale is easy.

The ash is light and flaky, doesn't really hold more than an inch before dropping off. But the burn is great with no touch ups required throughout.
If you like medium bodied, medium strength sticks and haven't tried this one yet, you should give it a go.

Now pardon me while I go nub this bee-ach.

Finally getting in on this with 1502 ruby

It was ok, Kind of soft throughout and the draw was a bit looser than I like. Had a slight pepper spice to it and hints of creaminess here and there, but mostly one note. Ash only held on for about 1/2 inch at a time. In the last third I kept getting the taste and tingly feeling on my lips like there was tar but I didn't see any so I was pretty much done then.

CroMagnon Atlatl. Been resting in my humi for about 6 months. With initial inspection in the light this thing sparkles, not very shiny but it is a gorgeous wrapper leaf. Paired this gem with some rootbeer.

1st third is very full flavor with leather, earth, and pepper spice being the dominate flavors. Retrohale is intense.

Beginning the second third things start to mellow and smooth out. The pepper fades and changes to a hint baking spices. I'm getting some unsweetened cocoa now too. The retro is delicious.

Heading into the final third all of the spices have seemed to fade and the smoke has gotten a bit creamy. The cocoa has ramped up in flavor complimenting sweet tobacco flavors that are coming through more now. There is something I can't put my finger on at the tail end of the retro, but I'm really digging it.

This was my first review of a stick and have to say the process and focusing on the stick made this experience tonight way more enjoyable. Cheers fellas!

Decent stick with a fair amount of smoke output. Required a couple relights but overall had nice flavors throughout. Lots of cocoa and coffee notes. Would definitely smoke another.
