Hey brothers thought I would share I'm smoking an SOA black crown. It's a warm day, about 50 and sunny. Humi is a solid 65 constant but this gar has the worst run I've ever see. Holding unturned side down even touched it up but I can't get it to quit. Doing it almost the entire length. Any help figuring it out would be appreciated

Kinda what I was thinking but I hate pitching a stick lol. I'm a finish what us start kinda guy lol. Was just thinking maybe It was my fault in the storage of it or something but I smoke their chapel edition and the red label one both were on point and smoked well.

Sounds snobby I'm sure but the trade off of buying cheap smokes is accepting poor burns or construction. You pay for what you get(typically)

Your right Ryan, that does sound a bit snobby. . Although I agree that more time is taken during manufacturing of higher end smokes, I don't believe you have to burn an opus to get a solidly constructed cigar.
As far as the Black Crown in question, I don't believe you did anything wrong concerning storage or handling. Sometimes you just get a bad one. No matter how much it cost.

Some sticks are as close to guaranteed that there will not be quality issues, but do come at a cost (see any Goldie by La Palina). With that, less expensive sticks do come with this risk. Kind of a wide spectrum I know, but wanted to reference something specifically.

I had one the other night that ran a little but was a easy fix. It was the last of a 5er and none of the rest had issues. Made me wonder if it was too close to the corner and did not get enough moisture or just a fluke. One that runs that much I would just pitch and see what else looks like it would give you a decent smoke.

I ended up cutting the majority of the canoe off and relighting wasn't bad but I was a little disappointed on this stick. It's was an exploder towards the end and everything. Guess I'll just pass over these particular ones from now on. Thanks brothers

Based on the title of this thread, I was afraid @smokinbrew ate something he shouldn't have! Anyone? (crickets).

I've had some really expensive sticks (a pair of Cohibas comes to mind) that were some the worst burning cigars I've had in 22 years of smoking. That said, I tend to agree that the more you spend, the less likely it is that you'll get a bad burning stick. YMMV.

Not sure why people are mentioning money as an issue here? I've seen $3 sticks do it and $30 sticks do it. Many things can contribute such as storage, construction, quality of tobacco (veins in wrapper), etc. Based on the picture, I would guess construction issues. What can I say other than it happens...

There are many less expensive sticks out there that smoke great, so don't feel like you have to spend more to get an even burn.
