What's new

Another NewB here, but I'd rather be fishing with a good cigar!

Hi,

I've been enjoying reading the forums for a few weeks and thought it was about time to introduce myself. I'm Jayson and they're few things I like better than a nice day on the water with a good cigar... or three. I'm from Virginia and call the Pamunkey River home. I also fish the York river, Rappahannock river, Chesapeake Bay, and out of Hatteras, NC at least two time a year. Good friends and good times.

Prior to finding BOTL, I occasionally enjoyed a Padron 4k natural or maduro and some other cheap sticks I'd find at the local B&M. In the few short weeks I've been reading here, I've made three online orders and already outgrown one tupperdore. I'm currently seasoning a new, much bigger tupperdor to keep a box or two and a few singles stashed for my fishing trips and evening on the porch with the dogs. In the coming months, I look forward to branching out from the Padron line and finding other sticks I like. I've recently tried Undercrown's and an Oliva sampler pack. Both have been wonderful so far. My next step going to be the newb sampler thread.

Thanks for stopping by and also thank you all for contributing to the wealth of information that's shared here. I look forward to being a part of the community for a long time.

Take care,
Jayson

This is a fun (but dangerous) place to be. Hide your wallet. Wait 30 days until they open up some more forums and it's over, down the slippery slope you go! It's a great forum to be on with some awesome brothers (and I'm sure maybe some sisters here too??). Enjoy your time and welcome from Long Island, NY!

@Zigarro The Ches. bay is much cleaner than it was 10-20 years ago. Fish are fairly abundant, shellfish and crab populations have rebounded somewhat, and the grass is slowly coming back. I believe the biggest threat it faces now is invasive species and overfishing of the menhaden (baitfish) by a large commercial fishing operation.

It's never to late to get in the market! Btw, I see you're out in Cana. I've actually been to Cana for work a couple years back. Beautiful countryside out there.
Ok, I've got to ask what you do. We're so small, we don't even have a stoplight. Not joking.
