Ok guys, here goes.
My wife is pregnant, which is awesome! What isn't so awesome is how irritable she has become.
Misunderstand one statement, nuclear blast.
Had a long day at work, nuclear blast.
Want to go to bed because I'm tired, nuclear blast.
You guys who have done this before know what I mean.
I love the woman with all my heart, and that is why I'm asking for some guidance.
I have about $40 left to my name until payday (then bills come, so I'll be broke), and instead of buying any cigars I want to do something that will make her feel important.
I've done flowers, chocolate and all that, so something different.
So gentleman who have been here, what can I do to make her feel like her world isn't ending and that she is the most important person to me?
Let's keep it realistic too. Remember, I don't have much money!
Thanks in advance, you guys are great.

Get her a manicure/pedicure on a Friday and pamper the shit out of her for the rest of the weekend. Rent a movie, popcorn, run her a bath, talk to her about what might be making her nervous about being pregnant, make it all about her. Remind her how beautiful she is to you and that you are looking forward to being a father and a husband with her. That always relaxed my wife.

P.S. Good luck, pregnant women are fragile and volatile.

These are good suggestions. Anything you've heard her mention wanting or liking. The key is to remember that you can do something nice and she'll appreciate it but she is still pregnant, her hormones will still make her moody and nothing will change that until she's no longer pregnant..

Clean the house, buy her a pre natal massage and make dinner
Listen to this guy all of the Detroit botl are scared of his wife. I think she beats Ryan when we leave. Also make notes of how unreasonable she is being you may need to play these cards later i.e. B&M trips, cigar orders etc. In all seriousness she probably just wants to feel pretty again so you have to make her feel that way good luck!

As a father of 3 i finnaly figured it out......NOT!!!
They are very fragile right now. ANything you can do to brighten her day would be great. It doesn't have to be anythign spectacular or expensive. WIth my wife food always worked well....the first one was ice cream from cold ston creamery, the second was Chipotle and the last one was Dairy Queen. let me tell you, a DQ Blizzard got me out of more than a few jams. Good luck and congrats bro!!

I have to agree with the other guys here...do something nice for her, certainly (whatever it is she likes / needs). But the keywords of the day are patience and understanding.

Something else just popped into my head, pursuant to a conversation I had with @8ball last night: make her a playlist of all the songs that are relevant to your relationship. That'll soften her right up. Nothing like pulling out the ol' "mix tape" card! ;) And before anyone starts asking questions: NO, I didn't make a mix tape for 8ball...it was just two very heterosexual dudes talking about things from the 80s...

What we think is a good idea and what women think is a good idea is usually very different. Here is a good video I actually suggest watching with her that explains in detail the difference between the man and woman brain. If you have more time there is a full length version available but this gets right to the meat and potatoes.

I'd send her to get a massage or a manicure or something to relax her. Try to be as helpful around the house as you possibly can, and remember to keep your damn mouth SHUT.

I've been married three years, but together for over eleven, no kids. I love her to death, but sometimes we could kill each other. Her job is really stressful and she can take it out on me. I've learned in those times to just do what I can to make it easier for her, and then I'll do what I need to do in my own time.

Man, this is some really good advice! Thanks a lot guys, it's good to hear advice from those who have been there, done that.
Today's mission:
Find a good mani/pedi place and get her a gift certificate
Go to dinner tomorrow night or Friday
Dessert
Mix tape (so classic)

Keep 'em coming!
