Aw the wrapper cracked on the culebra. Hope it still smokes okay, Yan.
yeah it cracked a bit. It was part of why I took it. Plus, I really want to try it. And, I hope to pack everything in a smaller box, so strategically it made sense to not put it again. and risk further damage. Lol.

Thanks a lot for making it available in there Spanky! I really wanted to try one :D

The Dog Rocket Roulette is in rather bad shape, the large boveda that was in there to try to help, has dried out. We'll hope for a prompt recovery.

I picked number four. Let's see if this dog is good at spotting dog rockets.

the construction is tight, but sadly a bit crispy, and some of the wrapper is unraveling due to low RH. might burn badly because of that too.

the smell is dim and sweety. Perhaps a bit nutty. No spices. There are hints of hay or barnyard.

I'll light it up my usual way - matches before cutting. That way I am certain to pick flavors early and will maximize chances of a nice burn.

It lighted rather quick, likely a sign of being dry.
The cut was nice and sharp.

the first draw is a sweet floral hay with signs of nuts. So far its a good sign. Nothing harsh, no bitterness, no bad tobacco flavours.
Did I score a good smoke in the rocket roulette?

The first third isn't very flavorful. Not super bad either. It might be a dry good smoke, or a not so bad rocket. Hard to tell so far. It is very bland.

The ash is a bit irregular, and pale grey. The demarcation line between wrapper and ash is thin. That's a sign of aged tobacco. Its a good sign.

as the first third progressed, the non-flavors made place to mildly bitter dryness. Its not too bad but its not good.

the wrapper sufferred quite a lot from being dry and is breaking up in several places. its a shame. most of the roulette is in that shape too. I'll try to bring them back before sending the box away, and am currently recharging the bovedas.

The ash is rather robust, sign of good construction. The nice white smoke is rather light and climbs very well. It is malleable.

At the second third, flavors of dried cardboard starts to emerge. Retrohaling doesn't bring much to the table. No spices. No coffee. No chocolate. burned hay?

As the third third started, the cigar started to show its nature. Some chemically induced peanut butter flavors emerged, making me cringe quite a bit.

at that point it was no longer "not tasty" but started to become "unbearable" with its notes of burned girly magazines that had weird perfumed stuff infused all over the publicity.

Overall, not an overly bad smoke, but, this dog says: *not* herf worthy.

I love your descriptions, Yan.

Smoked a rocket today. It smelled like nothing. Wrapper was flaky at 65% and just tasted bad. No way I can think to describe it other than something I didn't wanna taste. I made it about 25 min and I just couldn't take anymore. Hopefully the next one will at least be better than this
Glad I got rid of that one!

Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon - some people love them, I tend to like Torano's but never could get on board with the Cameroon. Sounds like the dryness may have made the experience worse than it should have been though.
Yeah I kept thinking its just too dry. See in my review there are lots of positive points you wont usually see in rockets.

The first few puffs were even good despite dryness. It kept being anywhere between good and smokable for the first two thirds, I was surprised to get bad flavors afterward. And it was very harsh.

To the benefit of the stick; it started to taste bad after a relight...

The boveda in the roulette bag was hard as rock; the sticks all are losing some wrapper. I think they didn't survive the Ohio triangle very much.

It is surprising how much dryness will damage the flavor profile of a cigar. Ill have to smoke a non-dried one to compare.

There was a mix of dry and wet bovedas as its been making the rounds, but if you have a way to throw more in as it heads back, it wouldnt be a bad idea.

They are free to all who dare I had a large amount so smoke away. You only live once and one of those may kill you.
Cool! Thanks. As stupid as it gets, those are not available here and the shipping makes them quite cost prohibitifs for what they are. I'll pick a few for later ... expérimentations!

Merci beaucoup!

I'm smoking a rather dry stick right now... for some reason, I always figured that tubed cigars were airtight and therefore didn't need to be kept in a proper environment. Oh well, looks like I'll be trying to restore the rest of my box now...
