While the texture and thickness of the LO leaf is way different from what I have been using from WLT, the flavors are still similar enough to call this a win, especially since I like the look and feel of the LO leaf better.

That looks awesome! Its taken me all day to read half way through this thread and to see the progress has been really cool. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop along the way.
Edit: I read the whole 55 pages today, you guys definitely pulled me in with this one! Whenever I figure out which kit suits my tastes, I'll be placing the order...

So after reading the tips for beginners thread in the Rollers Lounge and watching Gdaddy's test video, I'm fully committed to the cause! Even killed some time between meeting by following along with the paper towel test lol.

Crushed my tubes when trying ripping through the the paper towel without scissors tho. Could have done the whole thing wrong, but it was fun lol.

About to order the Oscuro y Rico kit from WLT unless someone has a better recommendation on what to start with.

Excellent work! I started with the Terroso Profundo kit and enjoyed it, but they have changed it since. The Azucarodo Oscuro kit actually seems to be the most balanced blend kit. I prefer my blends to have seco, viso, and ligero but I don't think your choice would be bad at all. The corojo and Nica Habano go very well together. The Sumatra as binder may be a little fragile and difficult to work with. The Dominican binder is pretty much all I have used with the exception of scrap wrapper and seco filler occasionally that is high enough quality to bind with. Enjoy the trip down the rabbit hole and hang on for one helluva ride!

Thanks to you all, I have went over the slide of the cliff I was teetering on, and I am now tumbling down the slope. Just placed my order! Went with the Azucarodo Oscuro kit instead - the fragile binder being the main reason. Figured I didn't need to make things any more difficult for my first time.

Gotta say in super pumped to sit out on my deck as spring comes around and enjoy a smoke I rolled myself. Then to get into tinkering with my own blends

My first ever turd! :) not bad worth 20-25 minutes worth of time:

Honestly though it's WAY harder than it looks. Paper towel practice is alright but it doesn't compare to baccy leaf.
Nice consistent size there. Making it look pretty comes, but that consistent size from end to end of a single stick is tough for me. Nice job!
