Blends or brands that went away (and you miss)...

There have been plenty of blends and brands that have gone the way of the Dodo. Some rightfully so, but some we will always miss and wish were regulars (many Tats, LPs, and the like).

While it's not a super premium priced stick, there was a Famous Smoke exclusive some years back that I absolutely adored, called Capoeira.

It was only about $3/cigar, but this thing was a monster. Anyone I ever got to try it agreed, it sat toe-to-toe with any of your super premium boutique blends. A true diamond in the rough.

I even sent one in to Bryan Glynn (CigarObsession) and he was blown away.

If this thing was still available I'd buy 5 boxes right here and now.

How about you? What brands or blends have disappeared that you would kill to get back?

Lots of really great cigars back when I first started smoking in 2005-2009. I really miss the Padilla that were blended by Pepin. Also some of the older Tats were incredible. Not that Petes new stuff isn't great.

The old Joya de Nicuragua Cuenca y Blanco blend before they changed the band to just say CyB. Whatever they switched the blend to really made that cigar taste bland to me. It was one of my go to smokes, but now...just no.

'91 Hoyo de Monterrey Double Maduro

This was an amazing cigar. So chocolatey, so rich and smooth. Imagine a Güeguense with more chocolate and a little smoother.

There is a lot of my collection that I'd trade for some of these...

But alas, they are "no more".

I missed out on the CAO Amazon Basin a few years ago. I always thought that was an interesting stick. I hope they re-release.

I honestly can't understate what I would do for a few more boxes of Capoeira Alunos.

There are a bunch of brands/ blends that have been discontinued since I started enjoying cigars 20 years ago.
CAO's original blends were very nice like the Extreme, Odyssey(sp), Original maddies. Perdomo ESV91's in all wrappers,
The OR Quintero made by I think General were nice. I still have a handful of these and they have aged really nicely.
Monte Cruz/ Dunhill cigars were good. S.T. DuPont's that were made in the Canary Islands.
Conch Republic cigars that were rolled in Key West were a fantastic cigar that hardly anybody knew about unless they were on vacation there and happened upon the shop.
The list goes on and on. Most people are looking for the next great hot smoke, when I walk into a shop I look for these.

Ah, yes, the Jesus Fuego exclusive made for Famous. I smoked my share of them, and yes, they where very good. Strange, weird martial arts label, but good cigar.

I tried several CAO sticks back in 2010/11 but just couldn't get into them. I tried a couple of Italias and Brazil's, and they both had this flavour that I can only describe as "eggy".

I really miss the Petit Upmann. Thank goodness I had the, ah, foresight to send my press secretary, Pierre Salinger, to buy up all of them that he could, er, ah, find before I signed the Embargo order back in '60.

Also, I miss being alive.

Funny you mention the AB SCR....that was the first box I ever purchased.
