My name is Derrick. Im 25 years old. Just started with cigars this year and have tried a few different things so far. Very enjoyable and fun experience to see what i like and dont like. Just getting started with it and taking it slow as im not really finacially able to go out and go crazy buying a bunch of stuff i dont really know if ill like alot. Hopefully some more experienced people here will be able to give me some guidance and help into figuring out what i may enjoy the most. I am a father and spend most of my free time doing stuff with my my family or watching sports and working around the house. My grandafther recently passed away and was a big pipe smoker (ocasional cigar) and left me with some of his collection of pipes and things so i want to see what thats all about too. Maybe someone will here will also be able to give me some guidance in that aspect also. Look forward to making some new friends and having good convo with botl.

Welcome to BOTL Derrick!! Don't worry about "keeping up" just buy and smoke what you like :) Also, if you want some help "sampling" a range of cigars or pipe tobacco, there are a couple newbie trade threads around... let me find em :p

I read through it a little bit. As far as a trade goes i probably wont be able to do that because my little humi is empty. I got 20 cigars and a small humidor for my birthday and smoked all those. So cash deal would be my route. Could you tell me roughly what i would pay for a newb sampler. Just wondering a rough estimate so i have an idea of when i can get in on something like that. I dont want to ask for a sponsor and then not be able to afford to do so. I dont want to waste anyones time who is trying to help me.

You'll figure out all the details after posting in the newb trade thread "you're looking for a cash trade"

It's ok here lol. Taxes suck, 2nd amendment laws suck even more, but I do love Long Island regardless.

If you ever come out this way let me know. There's a few local B&M's we can meet up at for a smoke or three!

Welcome from Virginia. An hour from a B&M, sounds about right for me too. Folk here will help you get started down the slippery slopes.
