Miss you big guy!

Looks glorious! I am in love with mine, though it is nowhere as largeWhen we moved into our new home last Spring, after storing in several coolers, tupperdors, a NewAir, humis and jars, I finally had enough space for a large cabinet humidor. I vetted my options, weighed the pros and cons of various builders. And decided to make the call to Bob Staebell of Aristocrat Humidors in Texas to begin designing the new cabinet. I had just under 2,000 sticks in storage and wanted it all to fit. I also wanted that to be the limit, nothing bigger, the intention being an imposed method of control. So the decision was made to build a MXT+ 26.5 '4874' with dimensions 48” wide x 25 5/16” deep x 74” high and active humidification. I decided to forgo the temp control and shave some weight and cost. The cabinet sits in my basement which stays a cool 66-68F year round. Main wood specie is Black Walnut, doors are book matched Walnut Burl & hardware is Polished Nickel. Stain was requested Medium Dark Brown.
I was surprised how much room this thing had, my current total is about 1900 and by the looks of it I could probably fit another 250 and still have great circulation. These things are massive, the singles drawer is more than ample and having active humidification with large reservoirs is so much easier to manage than re-humidifying beads. The hygro system is accurate and easy to set. I have not played around with calibration. Ambient humidity is about 30rh, and the seal is performing well. Shelves are sturdy and the cabinet is well built. No complaints.
We had a few hiccups with delivery, nothing that Bob was responsible for or could control and in the end he made good for their shortcomings. Bob was easy to reach on several occasions, timely with his response to email and just a pleasure to work with. I could easily recommend him to others.
