There hasn’t been any recent posts about candela wrappers so I’m interested to hear what input you guys have. What type of flavor profile if any does a candela wrapper impart on a cigar? Does anyone prefer candela to its much darker counterparts?

People seem to either love or hate them. I get the impression that the illusione is one of the better bended of the available Candela.

Does the wrapper give off a grassy/ bitter Taste?
I find it a sweet taste but the strength of the binder/filler levels it off nicely. I really enjoy it and bought a box of this years release. It is a nice change of pace.

Most of the candelas have that grassy taste and this does but only a hint. I would definitely try this cigar.

Well now I’m intrigued.. I’ll have to check my local B&Ms to see if they have any and if not I’ll just order from the trusty old interwebs.

I’ve only seen them in one shop so if you can’t find them, check out Cigar Hustler online. That’s where I bought mine

I have tried several of them and most were pretty nasty. The AB filthy hooligan was probably one of the worst while the Illusione 88 Candela was actually pretty decent. I have not smoked the RoMa craft version so I am not qualified to comment on that one.

I bought a box of Cuban Port Laranaga PCs on the island several years ago and they were pretty tasty. I've tried several other from DR, Nicaragua and stateside and they were all very bitter and grassy. I haven't tried the Illusione, but will.if I run across them, as I enjoy the rest of Dion's cigars
