In a few weeks I am going to be passing through Dubai airport on my way home, and I have a few days on the ground in Dubai as well. I know I have heard great things about the duty free at Dubai airport, however are there any other LCDH in the city? I am looking for a place to hang out have a cigar, etc. I am also looking to stock up at the Duty Free on my return, but I would be interested in venturing into the city for better sticks.

I know we have some guys here who have passed through, or frequent it. Help me out!

No experience myself but the LCDH located on The Walk by the marina has been recommended to me by friends who have visited. Biggest LCDH in the Middle East I believe:sneaky:

I know the actual lcdh in the airport is concourse 3, which is the emirates terminal area, but be sure to inspect any boxes as quality can be super spotty from what I've read. There is a lcdh located in the city as well, the photos look good and the humidor appears to be larger than several I've seen in Europe. Good luck and let us know if you find any goodies!

Haha I wish that was the case. I’ll be chasing you guys tails for a long time.

I think I remember hearing about the quality issues with the airport, although I am on emeraits, so that’s convenient.

I will be in the Maldives for the trip, so if there is a shop in their main city I suppose that would be Pacific Cigar Cos territory.

I will post a ton of pictures. I hear that emerates has a cigar lounge in the terminal as well?

the 2x LCDH's in terminals 1 and 3 at the Dubai International Airport are a bit small, but they are outstanding.

Prices are among the lowest I have ever found anywhere.

And they keep a good bit of well aged stock (10 years + ) in the LCDH in terminal 1 (the smaller of the 2 shops).

If you happen to be traveling through Dubai on the first Monday of the month, they typically do a monday madness sale on all duty free items at the airport.. I think the discount is 10% (on already low prices)..

You wont find a whole lot of LE stuff there.. but you will find plenty of the big marca staples.. all at very good prices.. all very well stored, maintained, and cared for, etc.. Ive personally never experienced "spotty" quality with anything I have purchased there.. and have made at least 2 dozen box purchases from the shops in the airport over the years.. and probably have bought another couple of hundred singles..

As far as where to smoke in the city.. there are a lot of options.. Many restaurants have outdoor spaces where smoking is allowed (although most smokers will be huffing on hookahs or cigarettes).. and there are lots of outdoor tourist site seeing type things to do where smoking is ok..

Catch the water/light show outside the Dubai Mall (on par with something you would see in Las Vegas).. its free.. and outside.. plenty of smokers there..

Or take a walk down the beach/boardwalk at Jumerrah Beach.. smoking is permitted..

The beach next to the Birj Al Arab hotel is nice as well (although typically crowded).. and isnt a bad place for a HUHC to catch on fire..

I can't speak from as much experience as mdwest, but the 2 shops at the airport are outstanding. I purchased several boxes on my few trips through Dubai and can agree that quality was never an issue. Everything he says is spot on. Listen to his advice.

Thank you guys, that’s what makes this forum great.

I will check out the water show, and grab a few boxes for the vacation, as well as a few souvineers on my way home.

There are lots of little vendor carts, and some nice shops all along the Jumeriah Boardwalk if youre wanting to pick up some cool/unique souvenirs.

We grabbed a couple of small oil paintings on canvas for about $20 each that were done by a local artist, and picked up a hand painted ostrich egg that has arabic writing and a mosaic design on it that I keep in my office the last time we passed through (it probably says something like "death to whitey" or "fuck you, you american pig" on it lol.. but I was told it says something about "love and peace" when I bought it :) )...

Something definitely not right with UK type prices..

I have never paid more than typical "online" prices for CC's from reputable dealers.. and typically prices are 10-15% cheaper than the best prices you can find online..

If you catch a sale going on at the duty free shop, normally its MUCH cheaper than buying online..

That photo looks like the walk in at the LCDH in Terminal 1 or 3.. Im guessing you were in the right place..

Not sure what might have been going on with the pricing though..

I have an iPhone X.... I’m not sure that the phone is the problem

This was terminal 3 arrivals, just the general duty free on the way out of the airport. They did have a walk in with a sign that said “habanos specialist”.

Depending on what time we return from dinner tonight, I am going to try to make it to the LCDH at Jumeirah (by the palm).

It’s a Beautiful city howvever, with even better food. The most surprising to me is how affordable it is compared to say NYC or Miami.
