Somebody has been rebanding NCs with CC bands and selling them to you

:)
Or, Chuck, I've pretty much removed provincial factory coded cigars from my rotation and focused on the casa matriz concept Cass mentioned.

The phrase "Monte 2 are just so inconsistent" is pretty contradictory. Is the Monte 2 inconsistent? Or are the factories that make them inconsistent from one to the next? If Montecristo mother factory is Upmann, then that would explain why I haven't had a bad UPE 13 or LUB ABR 14 Monte 2. Quite amazing actually.

But I get it, you were still buying NC unbanded bundles for $40 on Facebook so you have a fun journey ahead. Enjoy it my friend.

So many experts, who does one believe? I mean, guy goes to Cuba 1 time, returns like Moses from the Burning Bush. From what I have seen online, Gary is very connected with Habanos, knows Cuban government execs...Gary referenced Habanos Executives as his sources when he explained on FOH why Behike started to be rolled outside El Laguito beginning in 2017. No one here knows that kind of information. So please stop with this "box code" nonsense and 70-75% humidity BS. What a bunch of crock.

I just read this entire thread. I don't know why because I rarely read anything on the board anymore.
My observations:
1. I didn't know mk05 was on this board. Haven't seen his name in 2 years since another board changed servers and never came back up.
2. The information posted reminds me of the old cello on or off topics. Put 10 guys in a room who have been around cc's for the last 4 decades. They will agree to disagree.
3. Find what works for you and do it. Enjoy the cigars you smoke and quit worrying.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can do things however they feel is best. My thought is that if you're buying fresh stock to age it certainly doesn't hurt to have nice boxes from the premium factories that should be producing them. Here's some quick and easy examples: ALO 16 BPC vs MSU 18 BPC, ABO 17 Mag 46 vs BRE Mag 46, some derp derp factory making cabs of RASS vs MSU coded cabs. All of the better alternatives are readily available and don't take very much work to find. I don't run a "quality sorting" program that hypes maduro cigars from junk codes at premium dollar amounts and I think counterpoints should be made to the prevailing dogma preached on various forums.

Some people are scared of beetles and some have never had a beetle issue and trust the storage conditions of the vendors they buy from.

I don't freeze ever and I've never had a beetle issue
That's bcuz beetles are scared of you, Chuck.

This thread has turned fun, even got a Bohner and Miles reference... lol.

I'm much more concerned about temp than Rh. For me, I definitely prefer lower Rh... from my experience, higher Rh doesn't age as well and they burn too wet. I keep mine around 60% and love'em. Over the years I've patterned some of my habits around people that have been into cigars much longer than I have, and I found it to be true, for me. I think it would probably be better to have smoking stash closer to 63-65%, but I don't want 2 different storage Rh.

Either way, find out what you like and do it... don't just blindly follow what someone else says. And... it's OKAY to buy blind. :)
