Got 3 full days into my water fast; 3 days without any food before I threw in the towel. At the cigar lounge now & treated myself:

This one caught me off guard. Tobacco & Tangerine on the palate. Only $28 a bottle. Next bourbon for sure:



Bought this earlier this week. Definitely better then the 86 proof Old Forester. No cherry Robatussin either. Smooth & dry finish.

Picked up a bottle of the JE pepper today, and it is the closest to that note (cayenne) I've been looking for since the elusive HWDR batch I was drinking on vacation last month. Not quite there, but quite good for the price. Thank you again for the recommendations.

Curious if there are thoughts on this. I didn't have a proper glass but this was a decent first pour tonight.

In my opinion this bourbon is a lot better with a bit of water added then it is neat. The alcohol burn really hides the fruit notes. A decent bourbon but I had to look at my notes to remind me how I felt about it because it isn't one of my go to pours. Hope you enjoy it!

I've had a bottle open since it was first available, last fall/winter? My first pours were mildly disappointing to me. I found a youthful, grain note I dont usually get from Heaven Hill juice. Reminded me more of a Beam product... Compared to Virgin 101, also 7 yr HH sourced, I liked the V101 better.

I've heard it improves with air, might be time to revisit.

Since I always try to experience one whiskey one time (thrill of the hunt) this was bound to happen, especially after over 60 varieties of Bourbon & Rye I’ve been privileged to enjoy. I was attempting at finding something new and had it down to two; Old Forester Single Barrel & Old Forester Rye. Looks like i should’ve went Rye.
