Has anyone received product from him? I placed an order on 3/21 for some shelves and drawers for my wineador build and it's been crickets since he asked me to confirm an address. The stated build time at the time of the order was 3-4 weeks and we are approaching twice that long. I threatened a chargeback after he became unresponsive and he sent me a shipping notification on 5/6....shipper says they still haven't received the package.

Trying to remain patient but the lack of communication is becoming frustrating. Can anyone vouch so I avoid the chargeback?

Seems to be a common problem with them. Good workmanship, poor customer communication and delivery. Sounds like he's pretty busy.

I swear this part seemed word-for-word a repeat of the last few posts I've read about this guy. I had to keep checking the date to make sure I wasn't rereading an old thread.

It took me months to get my order.

I was to the point where I was trying to get my money back. I would get updates that a shipping ticket was created, but no shipping would take place. I even called my bank, and a few days later, I was given another update that a shipping ticket was made, and my order finally came in.

I even asked to be upfront and give me a real answer 3 more months a yr. something.

Order placed on 4/2/18 received late Oct. Early Nov of 18.

Things like this aggravate the piss out of me....a little communication goes a long way in making your customers satisfied. Don't create false tracking labels just to pacify your customers for a few days, dont ignore emails or phone calls. Dont take on more work than you can handle in a reasonable amount of time. Do be upfront about realistic timelines. Do have good communication with your customers.

This guys business practices have probably lost him more customers than he's gained through good quality work. I know I'll never order anything from him if it takes 6 months for him to send me a couple shelves for a wineador. You can have complete custom built humidors and cabinets in less time than that.

I dunno.. even if the shelves are Picassos I'd never order any. He's been this way for decades and not likely to change. If you can't take responsibility for orders and placate your consumers then stop it already or make them and then sell them....is that so hard.. I'd buy plastic trays before using him.

Forrest has been the same way for years. I heard once that if you pay for the expedited shipping/work (which isn't cheap) its still a few weeks behind. I thought he gave it up a few years ago due to health problems. I have had 2 successful orders with him over the last 7 years (and placed 4 total), 2 resulted in refunds due to time elapsed/lack of communication. He has good work at a reasonable price, but you have to be willing to place an order and forget about it until a large Fedex package shows up and makes you wonder what the heck you ordered months later.

We ordered one for my office about 6 week ago and just got the cooler last week. So hopefully that's a start of the drawers coming.

When I ordered my personal about 5 years ago I stayed on top of him and got it fairly quick, IIRC. Maybe a month.

Took 5 months to get mine.

He knows he’s alienating customers, doubt he cares one bit. He’ll make your shelves whenever he feels like it.

I wish I found this thread first.

Have an order placed a week ago, Custom shelves.
I'll keep you guys posted on how long and when I hear anything back.

5 months that's scary

They did tell me they would ship by the 30th of this month FYI

I have an order I placed on May 12th, finally received tracking on June 18th with lots of follow up emails yet the order still has not shipped. I've sent a few follow-up emails to no answer yet, hoping they ship soon otherwise will be contacting lapyap for a refund.

Update:
Mine just shipped, the delivery date is July 7th.

So far have not had any issues with these guys, they have answered all my. emails in a. timely manner. I will point out. they are closed and let you. know it on Mondays and one other day I forget the other day.

I'll post some pics once I recive them
