Story Time.
A couple weeks back I sat in front of a store at 6am awaiting it's open at 9am due to stating "special bourbons to be released". Just so happens I'm #1 in line. When they open I go in and the gent says (and I've spent a lot of $$ there), " I don't have the bottles yet but you are #1 when I get them at a great price". Fucking Awesome.
Well, yesterday I get the call and a photo. In the picture is a VW 10 year. This cat knows I've never had a Van Winkle and I am super stoked. I immediately head to the store and he places it front of me. Imagine my glee. Then the hammer falls as he types in the price. $499.00. I lost my shit and told him to keep it. What a fucking joke. The stupidity of the gent not to understand that his actions on a good customer (gouging) just cost him much more in sales than if he were to give this good customer a good deal. $300 cost him thousands.
So, that's my story. The quest continues but I WILL NOT support secondary. Especially a store that I know gets at less than MSRP. They think we are idiots.
Stand and Deliver.
