Has anybody traveled via airplane within the US and had CC? I am going on vacation next month and want to take some with me, but they will probably end up being in checked luggage. I can throw them in my carry on, but was wondering if anybody has had any problems with TSA and checked or carry on luggage with your CC'a?

I travel every week, do not worry about banded cigars. I would advise against putting in checked luggage however. I always carry on my smokes, TSA does not look twice at cigars. They don't have the knowledge or the authority to confiscate smokes. Many agents have looked at the thirty count and comment on how cool it looks and I open it up and show them what it looks like inside. I even gave a RyJ Cazadore to a TSA cigar smoker, the next trip through he told me it was the best cigar he had ever smoked until he reached the half way point and then it kicked his butt big time.Thank God, I don't know what I would have said if he asked me where he could get them.

Sweet...I didn't think it was something security screeners would check for, or even know what they were for that matter. If people were reporting they had problems in the past though, I would just FedEx them to my hotel.

I will put them in my carry on bag...Thanks for the feedback!

Southern Cal...gonna stay on the beach in San Diego for a couple days then take my three little girls up to Disneyland for a few days.

I love drinking wine with my wife at night on the patio of our hotel, overlooking the ocean. I can't wait to smoke a nice cigar with a nice merlot this trip. I have to get my R & R in before we head up to Disneyland where my girls will run me ragged.

I usually put them in my 10-year-old brother's backpack, along with the absinthe. They never check the little guys.

I travel all over the country with my special cigars. I have a direct connection by marriage to the TSA. His response was "Within the US we dont give a shit about cigars. His suggestions, 1) Dont pack and send the with your baggage. 2) Put them in your carryon. We know what cigars look like and again dont care where they come from. We are looking for security issues. Contraband cigars is not our problem. Dont bring a lighter please."

I've always taken the bands off when flying domestic. I can't tell you how many times I've had a bag searched only to have the agent curiously ask "Are these Cubans? tehehehe". 99% of the time they did it in a joking manner and didn't give a flying fuck if they were or not.

I did, however, have a Customs agent at the US/Canada border in VT find a sleeve from the Montreal LCdH, and ripped the rest of the car apart because of it.

The chances of them being confiscated by a TSA agent are slim to none, but I'd rather avoid any issues.
