Cigars and Women

Last evening at our local B&M a debate raged concering women, cigars and erotica. One of the regulars noted that he thought it was very stimulating to see a woman smoking a cigar as he saw it as somewhat of a phallic symbol.

Others countered, that to hold this viewpoint is akin to seeing a woman as an object rather than a person. One so strongly protested that they pointed to a cigar site cigar - review dot com as being almost anti-cigar and more mysogynist.

That leads me to the question of the week...

What say you on this topic, is it stimulating, to see a woman smoke a cigar or, is the image of a woman smoking a cigar a turn off?

I would say neither. It is as much of a turn on or off as a woman drinking wine or a beer. Or wearing a dress shirt and tie. I think the issue lies in that cigars are thought of as a "man's" thing. So I would guess psychologically, if the idea of an empowered woman, partaking in a man's activity, turns you on, you'll be aroused by it. If you feel women and men have roles in society that shouldn't be crossed, it might not be attractive- all the way up to revolting to see a woman smoking a cigar.

For me, if the woman is hot, she's hot. Smoke a cigar, wear a suit, wear a bikini, whatever. If it's some sea hag of a woman, she could be smoking an EL and it would still be disgusting.

It might be fun to date a woman cigar smoker, at least you wouldn't have to put up with any "no smoking" policies.

I can go with this. Race car driving is also a man's thing. But with the Force daughters and Danika Patrick, I think we can see that these lines are being broken down. But of course if Danika and the Force girls weren't so hot they would probably not be receiving the attn they are getting. What I really want to see is Danika in her racing suit with a cigar in her mounth.

i think it's a turn on...but it has nothing to do with phallic symbols!

I think it has to do with a woman enjoying something I also enjoy. Every once in a while Sarah will come outside and have a little flavored cojimar with me...and I really enjoy these times. LIke I said, it's not because her having the cigar in her mouth reminds me of something else...but rather I can enjoy and share that time with her.

I have heard the sexual connotations about women smoking cigars for years. I suppose there are times when I have even made them.

When push comes to shove though, it is all about the conversations that develop with the person you are smoking the stogie with ... whether male, or female. Awhile back, I offered a stogie to a female co-worker. About half way through the stick, she said she was done. About two minutes later, she started another topic. Before she knew it, the cigar was a nub.

It is all about the social exchange and nothing about sex.

Also, if a cigar were a Phallic symbol would a man cut the end off and set fire to it? Much less put it in his mouth.

Personally, I don't think it's a "turn on" or a "turn off".

Yeah I also think that a cigar doesn't add anything to the "turning on" factor...I've seen some pics in this thread that could easily been altered to not show any cigars and the ladies would still look amazingly hot!

I don't think it's a turn on sexually, but I think it's intriguing because it's not typical female behavior - like driving a motorcycle
