Hey guys,

It's killing me to even post this, but I figured I would throw it out there and see if there was any interest. My wife and I are trying to look for a new home for our 2 yr old mini daschund 'Habano' He's a great little dog. With our 1 year old daughter and the both of us working (while he is in the crate), he's not getting the attention that he deserves and we need to do what's best for him. He is house trained as long as someone is there to let him out. There is no way in hell that I'll just drop him off at a shelter, so I need to find him a great home with another dog lover. Feel free to PM me if you guys have any interest or if you know of anyone who would take care of my boy.

I can provide pictures later on this weekend if anyone is interested.

--This whole situation is killing me.....I've been putting it off for awhile but the wife is consistently telling me that he needs a better home.

We have 2 dogs already and that is our limit. Check with a regional daschund rescue, they would be your best bet. Good luck, I feel your pain.

Brother, the dog looks great, but already have a male who is nuts. It wouldnt be fair. I will ask a few good friends if they are interested. I know an elderly lady that might want him. She is lonely and would welcome the company.

Any way you could reconsider -- leave him in the yard during the day or have a Doggie Door put in so he could get outside? Is it necessary to leave him in the crate? With one dog we had, we put the crate against the doggie door so he could come inside out of the heat (Phoenix) without being able to destroy the house.

If that doesn't work, I hope you're able to find someone. (Based on emotion alone, my house would be overflowing with dogs. Unfortunately, one is all we can handle.)

I would love to get my Dad another dog because he's not doing so well and could use the company, but I think he's too sick. I'll talk to some people for you. Good Luck.

I would take another dog in a second, but there's no way it would fly in my house. Gotta keep the roomies happy.

Right now I'm still trying to convince my wife that we can adjust our schedules a bit, so things kinda look like they might go my way and Habano will be able to stay

when I read this, I was really getting sad, as I couldn't imagine giving up a pet. I am so happy for you that it all worked out and make sure that you give Habano the best years on this planet, they are so few anyway.
I wish my dogs would live forever

I hear you bro! It was breaking my heart to get rid of him, until I finally got ahold of myself and realized that we are already giving him the best care that he could possibly have. He's a great little dog and I'm committed to keeping him with us.

-Of course, we still need to get him a little orange vest to put on him when we take him for walks during Small Game Season. :rolling:
