I've been through LOTS of gun training and NONE of them have ever said not to use the gun as a method of drilling holes in walls....you can't train common sense!!!

Amen ... and you can't fix stupid! The problem is how something like this reflects on legitimate gun owners who respect their weapons and know how to handle them.

I also agree that this is a tragic misfortune - truly sad.

If you read the story, he THOUGHT everyone was inside. As far as the story reads, he was inside and fired from inside-out and the wife was outside. She was hit with the second shot (yes, that's right, he fired TWICE). No amount of trainnig will ever fix this Dave, it's that simple. You can't train common sense and you can't train dumb out of people.

Well said. You can't train common sense. I'm a certified pistol instructor and it never once crossed my mind to tell anyone that you shouldn't use a gun to drill holes in your walls. I’ve covered some don’t do this, stupid ass scenarios just to point out how careless some people can be but I think this even goes beyond the lack of common sense. This guy needs a good smack in the head! Several!

I agree, I would like to see if he ever recieved any training at all. I would assume a trained person would know to make sure of what is on the other end of his gun, before pulling the trigger. As I said before, commone sense is anything but common.
