My name is Mitch and I'm a Cigarstashaholic!

At the rate I smoke it would take me about 2.2 years to smoke what I've got by myself.

OK do the math guys where do you stand?

Funny. This is how i usually tell people how many cigars i have when it comes up.

I'd say i have about a year and a half. About 5 a week on average. but i certainly have been buying more than i smoke.

Certainly not enough. I'd like to have about 10 years worth. That way in WWIII breaks out and our little town is in a state of anarchy, me and my family can go live in my bunker and the one thing i'll be able to count on is good cigars for several years to come. I've been trying to decide whcih one the keep for the very last smoke though.

I lost count of how many smokes I have, and I have no intention of trying to count them all, but I am sure 5+ years worth.

That sounds about right for me to. But if I knew I couldn't buy anymore, I'd slow my rate of consumption down to like one a week so I could make it a looooong time.

I like the way you think. does your bunker have an air purifier in it or just gas masks for the family? If they get addictited through second hand smoke they want you to share. How does a munitny fit into your plans?

both. along with various filters for various environments as well as chemical and radioactive suits and a whole host of other "protective" equipment and devices. I've also got specific manuals for various events. lets just say i'm prepared for whatever. :assaultri

I used to be the hazardous material business so i was able to get my hands on a lot of stuff that i suspect will someday be very necessary.

But back to the oringal topic...the one thing i don't ahve is enough cigars. I mentinoed purchasing a humidor to put inside and the wife thought i was rediculous. At rpesent, if the shit hit the fan, you can bet your ass i'd be taking at least 5 minutes of whatever precious time i had in the outside world to pack in my cigars. I'd prefer to use that 5 minutes looting the gas station for more fuel instead:stickbeat

I'm working on building up my stash. I figure I have enough for a year maybe two depending on smoking frequency. I want to have enough to last me for the rest of my life by the time insane tobacco tax hits all states. I doubt that'll work out though.

Good point there adam...crazy taxes and even crazier things happening in general. I doubt it's too far fetched to think that at some point cigars may no longer be available. period.

but that's my "worst-case-scenario" thinking that i often use.

I've often thought about that too. I forsee some day our cigars having to become a no kidding secret stash and we'll have to very covert about where and when we partake on what we have left.

I imagine I have about 5 years worth.

The goal for me is to try different things. The ones I like I will stock up when things go on sale. Those I do not like or if I have too many of any kind of stick I will sell or trade. Since those things always happen the number or sticks and time to smoke them all is always changing. At the rate I smoke and purchase the numbers on both are always going up.

I've got enough to last me a year or two. Although I pretty much only have full boxes of stuff I'm aging long-term. Most everything else I smoked up this past year because I didn't have any money. And I have hardly been buying full boxes at all since I started working at a B&M. I just consider that my humidor!

If I stop buying and rec. PIFs today, at 1 a day, I would have enough for 1 year 2 months and about 3-5 days (left a margin of error)

I'm not as worried about taxes or society outlawing them. I am however concerned that opening up trade with cuba will start a new cigar boom like we had in the laste 90's and with the higher demand, the good stuff will get harder to find and much more expensive.
