Fitting, seeing how the worst President in the history of the United States just left office. :eyepoke:
C'mon Ron, it's time to let all of that hate go and support your new Commander in Chief.
Inspiring a Nation equates to the trickle up effect. All politicians care about is getting re-elected so inspiring these guys to work together, especially in these times, serve duel purposes. What we don't need, as a nation or a government body, is the same ol partisan negativity we've enjoyed for the last eight years and helped to get us into the mess we're in now. This is a very historical time on many levels. If you don't think so then check with your neighbors or better yet, open that envelope with that 401K statement in it. You know, the election is over. Now is the time for supporting our government and our leaders.
....and that's my 2c
I've noticed that people who for the last eight years have cheered all the protests against the Bush administration are, now that a new President has been elected, jumping up and down yelling "he deserves your support, he's our President"!
Mark
this is kind of like who dislikes certain cigars and who likes them..... bad presidents.... because they were involved in unpopular wars, let's see, yes bush is there but many probably don't remember LBJ and that lovely viet nam thing. then there were presidents who did unpopular, perhaps illegal things like nixon and slick willie. it was nasty on both sides. but in my life time, i think the times that were the worst were under the direction of one james carter. i'm sure a lot of you guys think things are bad now. but you probalby didn't have to wait in line or have rationed gasoline. and you didn't have to try borrow money when interest was over 20%.Okay, while I am not old enough to personally judge all of history, I will try to appease the GW Bush fanboys on here and say that he is the worst president in office in my lifetime.
To see my stance on why I felt he was the worst in history, you have to visit this site.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program & let's lighten things up a bit shall we?
Okay, while I am not old enough to personally judge all of history,
Or just close the thread.....Sounds like we need to move this to the debate room.
Very well said. The general public definitely needs to open there eyes, but everyone believes what fixed news feeds them and not what's really going on. Just the version they want you to see. I question everything. Remember when they very briefly reported that we entered Iraq on false pretenses but quickly switched back to the "filler". If we all knew what was "actually" going on. Most of us probably couldn't handle it.Alright I can't stand this...
Double standards & hypocracy is widespread on both sides of the isle.
It's establishment, baby.
Establishment politicians supported by establishment press cared for by establishment owners, etc.; appointing officials as payback for partisan support and keeping the arguments framed neatly to keep attention off of the real problems we face. We live in a society focused on fixing the symptoms rather than solving the root problem.
The first 'directive of power' is to maintain & further [it's] power.
I've heard it like this before: Washington politics is like a poker game - once in a while a player gets shot, but mess with the game & all the players get up to defend it.
Until we really make it a point to push lobbyists out & open the gates to a multi-party system, I see no real change in the actual problem.
American imperialism; class division; globalization; monopolies; war profiteering; raping the environment; slow removal of our constitutional rights; consolidating the media; IRS attack dogs & Fed Res. puppet masters; prison industrial complex; the blatant disregard of human life, science, national sovereignty; corruption, lies & more lies...
This & much, much more will likely continue.
But in the winter of our despair, when only virtue & hope can survive....
I'll choose hope, but keep my eyes wide open.
Well, you can't skirt politics without crashing head on in to it.The discussion is fine, we are all adults, but this was supposed to be about what you smoked.
Amen bro!but at the end of the day, there is nothing better than smoking a nice cigar!!!!!
