My best friends dad passed away of cancer last month, of course I went to MN to the funeral with another buddy (the three of us are just best friends.) So I get a call from Joe and he said his Mom was going to donate some money to the high school where Joe's Dad was a principal at, but the school said instead of money, they could really use a lecturne. So Joe's Mom was going to buy one until Joe stopped her and told her that I'd build one. When he called and told me the story, of course I was more than honored to build it. He didn't want anything really ornate, he specified plywood instead of solid panels (bummer), so I started working on it this morning. I've got a couple hours of trim work, adding a shelf and some electrical stuff yet, then it should be ready for stain on Saturday. It's nothing special in design or anything, but like I said, I'm just happy and honored that he asked me to do this for him and his family.
