he ate a little bit today, my vet is on jury duty 'til wednesday and then she'll go through the reports from the hospital, I trust her a lot and don't want another vet digging around, she's known my boys since they were 12 weeks old.
so far, so good, they couldn't actually find the tumor which gives me a glimpse of hope and his fun personality is coming back a bit, but the danger is not anywhere near over, whatever he has is still there, now we just gotta see if it really is cancer or something else, which of course I am hoping for something else.
basically, there is a membrane around the heart, everybody has it, and in his case, something put's stress on that membrane and the heart can't pump as it should, so the blood backs up and fluids are leaking into his stomach. you should have seen him, he was huge, he is a fat kid, no doubt, but he was so big I got scared.
in 99.9% it's a cancer, hence the diagnosis, but right now, after they drained the membrane around the heart and some 1.5 liters of fluids from his stomach, he is decent.
but it can fill up again, so he might need surgery to cut a window into the membrane around the heart to release pressure.
so either way, he will probably have a short life unless all this was just some kind of freak thing and just goes away.
Marley is an amazing dog, he is such a great soul, I will do anything to make him better, so far, the emergency visit was 4 Grand and who knows what else he needs, thank god I have insurance, don't know what they cover but at least something.
Jake is doing better now that Marley is back home, but who knows, only time will tell
