The "1 left..." Factor!

Looking at some of these posts, [ame="http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=33830"]What's your Rarest Cigar?[/ame] and some inquiries of HTF/Rare sticks... I was wondering why most of us tend to hold on to that last HTF/Rare stick we have.

In my case, looking at the humi, I have just to name a few:

1 AF BTL
1 AF OR Añejo
1 Tat SW Maddie
1 Tat BBMF
1 AF GOF Carlito 06
1 H Upmann 1999
1 AF WOAM
1 PSD5
1 Tat Boris

I know that these sticks are ready to smoke... they dont need to rest any longer, but everytime I open the humi to pick a smoke, Im like, "Mmm, not today."

Have I become a cigar collector? or do I have a bad case of "seperation anxiety?" Am I alone?

Every CC and Opus in my humi, which is probably about a dozen sticks. The other singles I have aren't being saved for anything.... except for my non-cigar smoking buddies:agreesmil

it'll be hard to smoke my last frank. other than that, i always figure the right time will just hit me when i know they'll taste good and i'll appreciat them the most.

No doubt, I don't think Nate smokes any of his damn cigars!

I only find it tough if I had a full box at one point. Other then that the time I grab is the right time. I don't own a cigar that I don't plan on smoking in the next 6 months with a few exceptions that I know aren't ready. If it's ready smoke it.

I say smoke 'em if you got 'em. You never know what is around the corner. In the end it is what it is which is a cigar and they were made to be smoked. Smoke you best because you never know if it will be your last.:ccowboy:

Definitely light them up. That's what they were made for. Think about it this way do you want to enjoy them or do you want your wife giving them away after you pass? You never know what tomorrow brings enjoy what you can today.

We are always waiting for that one day to smoke that one great cigar....but sometimes years go by without it happening...

So, I propose that we have a day (let's say...I don't know...Thanksgiving day? that everyone who wants to participate will smoke one of those cigars they never get around to smoking...either because it is "too rare" or whatever...

Then, we will have a host of reviews after that...How about "Thanksgiving Day Reviews"

I promise I will smoke one of my rarest sticks (might even do a poll and we will go from there...

Good idea? Bad Idea? I can take criticisms

Oooh, Thanksgiving Day potlatch! Great idea. I'll try my best to sneak in a smoke amidst the cooking, but if I can swing it I will!

What do you say, Brooks? Does a Forbidden X Cigar in the Bottle count? Been letting this sit for a couple weeks now, and I was gonna smoke it next week anyway.

I won't be smoking anything on Thanksgiving day but will be more than happy to participate on Black Friday. I will be more than happy to smoke one of my "untouchables" Friday morning before we all light up our RC233s.
