Polls or not ... I think cigarette smokers ruin it for REAL tobacco smokers.
They use the world as their ashtray / garbage container ... flicking their butts whenever the need arises.

The article in the link claims that "One recent study found that heart attacks dropped by up to 26% within three years in communities with smoking bans, though the communities may have taken other measures to improve residents’ health as well."

That's complete bullshit:

(Keep in mind that Dr. Siegel is actually an anti-tobacco public health researcher, albeit one who values science over politics.)

Of course it's bullshit--and it gets at least 25% of the population upset when they see that sort of bullshit tossed out there....which gets them clicking on those web pages.....which makes them MONEY.

Just don't do it.

Don't fall for Troll tricks.

You're better and smarter than that.

Vote No on this link and change the popular status on this site as people actually read this crap which is scary. Let's make it so their article and portrayal does not have the vote effect they wanted! Click on link and Vote No on an outdoor smoking ban!

I got into an argument with a lady on the WI statewide smoking ban on the website of my local paper. At one point I stated that you are probably the type of person who complain if you were walking down the sidewalk and somebody was outside on their front lawn smoking a cigar and some the smoke went by you as you walked by. She flatly replied that yes, smoking should be completely and utterly banned.

I'm not going to get into my political views as I do not like to mix politics or religion with what I enjoy but why are people so interested in other peoples business now days? I quit cigarettes 3 months ago and if I go to a bar I could care less if others are smoking a cig!!!
