I have a few questions about cigarbid. I know people have mixed emotions about whether cigarbid is good or bad. I don't really want to get into those questions. Instead, I'm wondering if the cigars are in good condition and how the cigars go for so cheap. I've tended to follow the belief that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Just wanted a little info before I placed any bids. Thanks in advance for the info.

I swear the RP ITC 10ths I won, though listed as new, were actually a previously opened box.

I have never had a bad experience. Except spending too much.

They sell the real deal and all the smokes I've received have been in very good condition.

Just remember ... it's an auction site. For every good deal, there are several others where people either don't know retail prices or just get caught up in the bids and wind up over spending. For the most part, lots wind up selling at prices that are close to what they go for on the CI website.

as stated, great site if you like the cigars you can find there, as you can get some deals. Just know what you can get the smokes at other sites before you start going crazy.

Be careful. Don't go there looking for a good deal. There are plenty of them. Know what you want and what they go for. Bid from there. They've got pretty good customer service too if you have any problems with your order but you have to call.

I've been bidding on CigarBid for about 5 years. The quality is, IMHO, very good. The customer service is great.

You can get some very good prices if you bid wisely. Know what you want, do a little research to find the prices charged by the internet retailers, and bid accordingly.

I can tell you this..I have baught box's off there I swear were already opened too and infact I recieved one that had the outer decretive metal seal removed from it!!! I was pissed...but I figure you get what you pay for and the cigars seemed to be in good shape. I have had both good and bad experiences with this "site" but that's the chance you take!

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'm actually mostly looking at 5ers as I'm still sampling and seeing what I like. Not to mention I don't have the $$ or the space for boxes. I actually have a spread sheet set up with what I want, what it goes for on CI, and what my max bid will be. I'm not really going for the latest and greatest so I'm hoping to get some deals. Again, thanks for the info and wish me luck!

I would also suggest to assume you will win all of your bids at your max bid so you don't get into a financial bind.

Right... My spread sheet contains my max bids so that I'll always know how much I'm out if I happen to win all bids at max. Given that I don't need any of the cigars "now," I think I'm going to enjoy stalking and trying to get some deals.

My best advise?

http://www.c-h-i-m-p.com/

This tells you the average, low and high price of EVERY BID during a certain time frame...when I used to bid on the site, I would price my highest bid at the lowest amount paid on CHIMP...(It has not been updated since the middle of '09, but the info is still very useful, imho)

Would I win every time? Not Even close...but they ALWAYS put up more...

OK, so I wanted to share this experience without starting a new thread. Mind you, this is my first experience with Cigarbid.

I won a bid on a five pack of 5 Vegas Classic robustos and three 5 Vegas Series A "Atomic" singles. I wanted to give the 5 Vegas line a try and I paid what I considered a very reasonable price for a total of eight cigars.

Well, they came in the mail yesterday, and instead of three singles of the Series A, they sent three five packs. I don't know if the guy filling the orders messed up or what, but I was pretty pleased. All told, I paid less than $1 per cigar.

To make things better, the day before the cigars came my dad asked me if I could track down a box of relatively cheap cigars for my sister's wedding this weekend. With the unexpected gift from Cigarbid, I definitely paid far less than what a box would've cost for about the amount of cigars dad was needing.

Has anyone else been "bombed" by Cigarbid?

A fellow spreadsheet nerd... I love it!

My wife constantly makes fun of all my spreadsheets; especially any cigar-related ones!

Yes... yes I have

One time I bid on and won 2 10-packs of a Camacho sampler so basically I won 4 each of 5 different robustos. My wife was home when UPS delivered by package. Then 45 minutes later he showed up again with 2 more boxes saying that he didn't realize these were mine too. When I got home I opened the first box and found my order. Then I looked at the other two packages and found that they had other addresses on them but had MY address on the shipping label. They contained the EXACT same order. I called Cigarbid to see if they wanted me to send them back and they said no... by the time they paid me for shipping if wasn't worth it to them. So I got 60 Camacho robusto cigars for $55 shipped!!! Woohoo!!!

The only thing that sucked... I had to buy a humi to put em in as I didn't have near enough room for all of em
