Funny you should ask, just found out this morning the engine in my Accord is blown. It only has 60k miles! Bought it less than a year ago off my aunt. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like whenever a little extra cash comes around something always quickly manifests and gobbles it up??

Sorry for the rant.

We got to use the federal taxes to pay of state because of me cashing out the IRA to pay medicals bill. We missed the 7.5% by a few bucks to claim it this year. I hope to be able to put some $ back for college.

Ours is going towards renovating the master bathroom which still boasts a 1980 decor...

New HDMI capable computer for the main TV room... Tinted the windows on the wife's new car, and bought some wood.

Not a huge return this year, but last year we adjusted our dependents down so we aren't giving uncle sam any free loans for 12 months out of the year. We now get more weekly, and less at tax time and that suits us fine.

We're getting audited for our 2007 taxes this year. Wife started working real estate that year. Lots of work, but no sales.

I'm pretty sure we owe money this year.

This year the wife and I are getting a nice fat return thanks to buying a house and the baby being born :eyebrow:. Planning on stocking up on some regular cigars and getting a few I've been wanting to try. Nothing big, but man I can't wait.

Anyone else have plans for their Uncle Sam allowance?

Dan

Well, its not Uncle Sam's allowance. You paid taxes on the money you made. It is your money that the government held and made money off of! They didn't pay you interest did they? hehe.

Putting mine in the bank, since momma is going to need a new car this year.

I don't have any itemized deductions (certainly not enough to get to $5700) so I got $49 back, haha.

If I got me a wife, or a house, or kids I suppose I would get more back, but I'm OK with where I am right now, hahaha.

Thas the way to do it - we know better than they what to do with our $$$ - anyway - In the absence of the 16th Amendment, the current income tax is an unapportioned direct tax, and is just as unconstitutional today as it was in 1894. ~:0)

Sadly, the US Air Force has limits on how much you have to put in each check (especially the bonuses), so we got a huge return this year. I'm not mad about the return, mind you, just that we gave the IRS free interest on that money all year!

But our bonus was already spent a couple weeks ago--on our car. The car which we now have to sell in a couple months before we go to Japan, lol. *sigh

Now that I'm not a college student anymore I've found out I'm only going to be getting back about 1/4 of what I got last year...which still wasn't much. Hopefully it'll be enough to make some minor repairs to my car with a bit left to help pay off the credit card.
