Grabbed this off of Craigslist for $75 listed under wine cooler. I took out the wine bottle dividers with a screwdriver and cut them to fit sideways and used them as shelves. Redwood liner and dividers. I put a small 12V computer fan and hooked it up to a 7.2 V old cell phone charger for circulation and a digital Xikar hygrometer. It took almost 2 weeks to get the humidity up to 65%. I had a solid wood smaller (aprox 2 CF) humidor and with the dry Colorado winter it would not go more than 3 days before I needed to add more water to the 1lb of 65% beads. I now have 3 lb of beads (this unit is 23 Cubic feet) and I have to add water every 3-4 weeks with me opening the unit every day. No more cigar box Tetris.

Wow! That is one helluva snag for 75 bucks! Great find! Nice collection too!
It is listed as a 240 bottle unit. I'm not sure if I will use the cooling unit or not. I have found that it is very well insulated and not much of a temperature swing even though the temp in the room it is kept in will swing from 55 to 75. Its heavy at around 200lb but still manageable.

Actually you can find the larger ones at a pretty good price. They usually won't be shipped and are so heavy that special arrangements need to be made to pick up - so the market is pretty small and the price shrinks the longer they try to sell. I picked up a 280 bottle Oak Vinotemp for $350 and at 375 lb that was a beast to get out of there. I ended up bringing a horse trailer with a ramp and 2 helpers with a furniture dolly. Presently sitting in the game room next to the kegorator (also craigslist) half filled with wine and champagne.

No they are Boris. My local was a secondary and nobody around here was buying boxes and he refused to sell over the phone. I passed on 4 Boris coffins and 2 Drac coffins to BOTLS. My plan is to trade Boris and Drac for next years monster and out of costume, if there is one (since I doubt I will be this lucky next year).
