I recently acquired a 150-200 ct humidor from my dad for my birthday. I am seasoning the humidor as we speak. I need a hygrometer and was wondering what kind I should get. Digital or Not. All input is appreciated. Also brands of specific hygrometers or links to them would be nice. I just want one that will last. Thanks

I second that... Digital is the way to go, and get a Boveda calibration kit.

the salt test has been the scientific standard for hygrometer calibration. The Humidipak thats in the one step kit uses the "salt test" technology inside of the humidipak.

The One-Step Calibration kit utilizes Boveda's 75.5% relative humidity standard.

What does that mean?
As far as I understand, It means that when you get your new hygrometer, you place it in a container with the boveda pack and it should read 75.5% rh. If the hygro is off, you adjust it until it reads 75.5% rh and it should be calibrated.

Cool, to each his own. Do whatever works best for you!

Personally, I keep my humi (wine cooler) in the closet of my office, so I keep this display unit on my desk where I work all the time and I can keep an eye on it that way without having to go into the closet.
