I am so sorry, I know it is hard for my opinion to hold much weight with a guy who has smoked a dozen Cuban cigars.
My experience has nothing to do with your opinions. Just merely pointing out that you've expressed that all you smoke is Cubans, and every chance you get you bring them up even if the discussion has nothing to do with them.
I mean to say there is NO hype over Cuban cigars is kind of silly...
I'm friends with quite a few people from other countries and their most desired cigars are all Domestic cigars. They have Cubans readily available and they really seek the non-Cuban brands which aren't sold much out of the United States.
I would say prior to the 1990's the Cubans probably were the best cigars in the world, and some may still be today. But over the past couple decades, specially this last one, the Domestic cigar industries have really stepped up their game. Not just in quantity of selection but quality.
Some day I would love to try a blind taste test of a mix of Cubans and Domestic cigars and see who can really pick out the Cuban cigars and see who ranks them in what order.
