I thought they were gifts made that way to be ugly so they would not be able to sell them. Given to them by the factory.
I've heard that, too.

Like I said, I think there are some neat stories behind the shape/presentation.

Just not my cup of tea, I guess :)

Plus you can't help but look ridiculous when you smoke one! It's like an image from some cartoon.

Never ever been led to true this style before.
But let's be honest if it smokes/burns well, draws perfect, tastes great...these will be all good and HTF in no time.
Press on Pete...

Seems like a fun project and think it will do well if he intends it to be a LE, but I personally don't have any desire to own/smoke any culebras. I would maybe get a Tat one for a fun occasion with other BOTLs though...

I've smoked a couple sticks from the partargas culebras and they are great cigars. Yeah bit funny looking when you smoke them, but fun just the same. Good one to break out at a herf, that way all 3 of you look silly. It's a cool stick to have and to smoke, but obviously not on a daily.

I just wish Tatuaje would release some more regular stuff.

There are too many uber-limited lines.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about? If these turn out to be decent and they are in fact an LE, allot of people will kick themselves in the ass just because they got all bent out of shape by a funny looking cigar.

Shit, what's all the fuss about. Round up two hotties and get your smoke on .

Dan

LOL. Have you seen me?

It'll be more like "round up two similarly ugly trolls and enjoy!"

I'll certainly buy some of these sticks if they're well reviewed.

Plenty of regular stuff being released this year––the Black PL, the La Casita Criolla, the Fausto, etc. And in another post Pete said he was trying to focus this year on maintaining the quality of his current lines, which is always nice to hear.

I've also got no problems with his über-limited sticks, especially if they're meant to represent a B&M loyal to him and Tatuaje (or to commemorate them, as with Barclay Rex); if it helps out those businesses (visibility, cash flow), good for them.

I've had the pleasure of trying these culebras before.. one burn very oddly right down the side and so was not enjoyable; but on the second occasion the cigar burned prefectly.

I wouldn't worry about it until the regular line starts falling off. If you don't want to mess with LE stuff, just don't mess with it. Expanding production lines too fast can be much more of an issue.

Dave is basically saying that his herfs only involve 3 people....

How do you smoke them anyways?

Do you light and snip all for heads and feet of the cigar and smoke the whole thing? Or do you take them apart for 3 cigars?
I was confused my first time too. Pretty easy really. You snip the strings holding them together, untwist them from one another, pass them to 2 buddies, and snip, light and smoke them like any other cigar.

I've tried the Partgas CC version and it isn't that bad. They are really more of a conversation starter. Last time I smoked one was a night out with the guys. We met a few people simply through their curiosity of these funny looking cigars. Give it a try some time if you can find a bar that allows smoking in these fascist anti-smoking law times.

There will be a bit of both. Sometimes there just isn't enough tobacco.

Wouldn't you like to know?
I love Culebra's just because no one really knows the history of them. I have heard the reasons here and also read MRN's book that says it was a Phillipine or Indonesian thing in the begining to promote aging. I believe none and all of the stories as I have heard to much of every story to discount any of them. The history and myth behind these is why I have collected them. And really kinda cool to smoke with a group.
