Tonight I'm smoking a Tatuaje J21. Its a great cigar but I can't get the label off easily and that is my pet peeve when smoking a cigar.

Just wondering what other pet peeves are out there.

Ha ha ha. That is easily one of my biggest pet peeves. I save ALL of my bands and I get really frustrated when I can't keep them in good shape or if trying to get them off makes me lose my ash.

Hmmm.... It also irks me when I managed to keep an ash all the way down to the nub and right before I take a picture I lose it.

Not too many things bother me while I'm enjoying a good cigar though.

The band thing bothers me too. Also when I get one with draw issues :angryteet. Those two things tend to kill the relaxing aspect of having a cigar for me.

Smoking an Acid near me.

I hate those f#@!%* things, 12 guys could be smoking some fine cigars and if only one of those guys is smoking an Acid it's the only thing I smell and the worst thing about it for me is that aroma in the air seems to make it's way through my cigar as I puff it and into my mouth. I feel like I've been mouth F#!@!* by those freakin' things and it tastes terrible! I thrown away countless cigars because someone lit up one of those peices of shit while I'm in the middle of my cigar. I know I'm coming on a little strong, but the feelings I have about that issue back up every word. I don't want anyone to not enjoy the smoke's they paid their hard earned for but.... So, if I haven't lit up already and smell what's going on I usually will either wait it out or say my goodbye's.

In the mean, time smoke what you like. But please considerately; if you can.

Band glued to the wrapper.

Any self-respecting cigar maker should be ashamed if they practice this.

It's an atrocity. Even worse when it's an ultra premium cigar.

I'd much rather have a band that's so loose it's falling off.

I absolutely hate seeing people trying to ash their ash cigars every few puffs. That's just so wrong in so many ways...

worst pet peeve...smoking a "premium" cigar and seeing dye filter onto my hands

Even more frustrating is complaining about the dye and being "corrected" and told it is "waxing". Really? why would anyone do this?

My biggest pet peeve is when people rub or poke their cigars to put them out instead of just letting them go out. The smell is just awful. Just set it down, ash-up and walk away, you dufus!

I will chime back in and agree with this....take a note from Ron Popeil and "set it and forget it"

Cracked wrappers, sun spots, tears in general actually, messed up feet, plugs, over-zealous gluing of bands.... Ooo Ooo! Actually, I really hate when I try to take the band off (I rarely slide it off, and usually pull it apart), and it tears because there is too much glue. I keep my bands, and use them for various Martha Stewart style arts n' crafts projects, and when they get all torn up, I can't use them. First Opus I smoked did that. I was so mad I almost forgot how good the cigar was.

This is on my mind because it happened yesterday: I hate it when due to cold weather and other factors I haven't smoked a cigar in around two months. Then, I pick out one I've been saving for a special occasion and really excited to try. Light it up, take a puff, blech! Keep smoking, hoping it improves, more blech! Eventually toss it long before it should have been finished. So yeah, I hate it when I expect a great cigar and get crap.

I have noticed that my palate suffers during cold weather. Just not as sharp. I have a much harder time picking out flavors. I also have noticed (not sure if cold has anything to do with it) that I have been getting a lot more tar build up lately. Sucks, and tastes horrible. I just hate winter in general when it comes to being a cigar smoker.

My biggest one is when that happens on one of those bands at the foot and it tears the cigar before I can light it.

Thought of another, but this has less to do with actually smoking a cigar, than with business/marketing practices that brands use. I really hate when cigar producers mislabel their vitola sizes. Or rather, when they use inappropriate names. This especially comes into play with the use of the term Corona Gorda. Corona Gordas are traditionally supposed to be 5 5/8 x 46rg. To call a 6x56 cigar a Corona Gorda, to me, just seems to suggest that the producer really doesn't know their stuff, which to me is not cool.

Also, when a line of cigars is good, but only available in huge fat sizes. I'm sorry, but I like cigars no larger than a 50rg for the most part, and if I had my way, most of what I'd smoke would be lonsdales. Please Fuente, for the love of all things good, make the Rosado Gran Reserva/Magnums in a smaller ring gauge. A Corona Gorda (a real one, not some 60rg monster!) or a corona, or a petite corona, or a lancero, or a lonsdale, or even like an 8-5-8 size.

*Cracked wrappers (Don't mind it on the foot...just when it splits the whole way while smoking)
*Bands that tear the wrapper
*Tight draw
*Constant re-lites
Sums it up for me!

Just outside insanity
Tight Draw would be first. Band glued to the wrapper would be second. And for some reason, when others pound/crush/smash their cigar to put it out...that just irritates the h#$@ outta me.
