Weirdest Cut You've Ever Had to Do?

Okay, so i left my cutter at work last night and i wanted to light my first of 2 Viaje holiday blends for my drive into work today...so i had to get creative.

I ended up taking a thumbtack from my desk and poking five or six little holes in the cap and then digging out a good looking but small hole in the cap. it turned out to be a really good weird way to do it. but the draw was great and the cap held up perfectly.

So my question to you is: What is the weirdest way youve had to cut a cigar and for what reason? I thought this would be a fun thing to find out from people as i am sure there are some cool stories behind why youve had to cut the way you had to.

Yeah i have always just used my teeth or flicked the cap of with my thumbnail or something.

I think the wierdest thing I've ever done was use the plastic toothpick from a Swiss Army knife on a Padron 4000. I did pretty much the same thing you did except I used the knife to widen and deepen one of the holes. It too was a pretty decent draw.

I've used my teeth, finger nail and pocket knife to remove the cap as well.

I have to admit, if I had a Swiss Army Knife, the knife is what I would think of using first.

Why didn't you just score the cap and peel it off the head of the cigar if you had a knife?

I had to use a golf tee on a golf course last year. It was when I had first started to smoke, didnt have a cutter yet. Bought a Flor de Oliva at the clubhouse on the turn. The tee worked ok but there was a lot of tar, so I had to keep reholing it with the tee.

I've used my teeth to very good results. I tried a kitchen knife once but it was messy and the wrapper came unwound (not sharp enough).

And I too have used the tooth pick on my Swiss Army Knife, lol.

On cigars with Pigtails, I just pull off the pigtail and light it up! It usually works great.

Weirdest..not so much a cut, but, had a robusto stick (gifted and cannot recall which) with a bettle hole in it near the head of the cigar, but past where the cut would be...So my lips would have been on the hole. Opted to experiment, so I cut it, flipped it around and smoked it backwards. Never got a "pop" so I think the bugger was long gone. But as predicted by some friends, the cigar did come apart on me eventually because of the direction of the roll.

Second weirdest was with an LFD Chiseleto where the shop owner recommended a punch cut on the top of the chisel...so the smoke pushed up to the roof of the mouth. Weird sensation.

I've used a Swiss Army, E-acto blade, dull kitchen knife, box cutter, fingernail, and teeth

...Geez...I guess I misplace my cutter more than I thought! Great post

I can't believe there's more than one answer where someone has had a knife at their disposal, yet used a toothpick!

Never really had any issues as i am never witout my swiss army knife on my keychain. When there isnt a cutter around i just use it to punch a hole. I swear this little knife has come in handy thousands of times.

I couldn't find a cutter so I asked my buddy Mick to cut it for me.

Not forced, but by choice I cut a hole in each side of the LFD chisel and smoked away. Pretty neat, i'm sure i'm not the first to do it though.

Initally i was never really good at scoring caps or cutting them off. I usually jacked the whole thing up pretty bad so I was trying something different. :dunno: This happened about 10-12 years ago when I first started getting into cigars so I was an immense klutz without a decent cutter.

Now I either always have a cutter or a knife on me so it's usally not a problem. And yes, I've gotten a hell of lot better scoring or cutting caps off over the years!!! :rolling:

I always have a pocket knife on my at all times so I have used that a half dozen times to cut cigars when I forget the cutter.
