I think they smoke just about the same. I can't tell too much of a difference in the tobacco blend, but the pyramid roll on the P seems to give it a little more refinement in the draw IMHO.
Specific to the D4, man that has got to be one of my all time favorites. I know I am not alone on that one. You just can not go wrong with that stick.
I received a box of the Serie Ps when they were first released, smoked one almost ROTT and immediately ordered another box. I personally love the Ps more than the Ds (although my fear is their popularity will breed an inconsistent product) but you can't go wrong with either.
The PSD 4 is one of my top 3 cigars. My aristocrat is never without a box. I smoke them young and enjoy them aged. You really need to get yourself some band judge for yourself. I love em
For me the winner would be PSD4, I think the PSP2 needs at least 5 years to show what its got, it is amongst the few ccs that is one dimensional the first years.
Based on a very recent experience, I'd say the 2. I smoked a D last week and then to be certain it was not me, smoked another one and then I smoked a P...
I have one D left in the humi and after that, I'll not smoke another even at gun point!
I personally found the PSP2 that I've smoked to have a little more kick to em', and a little fuller-bodied than the PSD4s i've smoked.....but either way, I plan on having both around in my humi for a good long while.
I think the reason for the negative attitude toward the D4 is the fact, when they go sick, they are SICK! They also have a somewhat lengthy sick period. Its intolerable, IMO.
Since the original P2's were released. I haven't been blown away by them. D4's made a nice comeback in late 08. Early 09's didn't impress me all that much. Not sure how the 2010's are smoking?
