At what point down this slope do you begin to question your sanity? For me it happenned last night.

When I first heard of this "Monster Series" from Pete I thought, "Now there's one stick I don't have any interest in". Flash forward to me last night driving 50 miles and fighting through traffic on the 405 freeway (what a mistake) just to pick up my box. 1 hour and 45 minutes after leaving home I finally pull in to The Big Easy.

Sanity (at least some semblance of it) returned quickly as I grabbed the nearest source of fire and lit that big stick. Aaahhhhhhhh, what a tasty smoke. Rich, sweet, earthy tobacco with nice barnyard flavors complemented this full-flavored, meaty stick. A perfect draw and near perfect burn (no touch-ups needed) helped to calm my troubled soul. About two hours later I bid this new found friend adieu but this is one stick that "sticks" with you. I think I can still taste a little bit in the back of my throat today.

Eric has a very nice store in Studio City that has way too many excellent smokes than any one place should offer. Pretty much everything Pete makes (sorry no black), among others. I could spend a month here smoking a different cigar or three every day and not run out of new sticks to try.

Eric was very cordial and a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to him. I'm sure I'll be back.

Reflecting on the 45 minute drive home, this doesn't seem so crazy after all.

45 minutes. That's nothin. I drove frickin 5 hours to Indiana and 5 hours back in one evening to hook up with Pete. Would have done the same if I had to for the Franks. Thanks God it wasn't required. Nice to hear there of your dedication to the "Drive like you stole it to get the sticks" attitude.

Actually, it was the extra hour sitting in rush hour traffic that bothered me, the 45 minute trip was nothin.

So, did you ever question your sanity on the 5 hour trip to meet Pete (and score some black robbies)? I'm not sure you're the judge of sanity that I was looking for.:robinhood

I was questioning that from 8:00 that morning and all the way there. But Pete was very kind. Kept slippin me BR's and I kept takin them. Made the trip home easy. Plus, I live in a house with 3 women. So, I called it the Manly Man Tour. Was well worth it. Epecially when Pete spent 3 hours talking to me. That was a major bonus.

So it looks and sounds like Pete isn't too interested in keeping these going.

Seems like maybe it was just a fun diversion for a while, but, in his words, "they're not a priority."

So, we may end up not seeing The Wolf this year.

Wouldn't you like to know?
I think they stopped being a priority when the drama around them became bigger then the cigar itself. Pete knew it was gimmiky and fun when he started them but am guessing the fun has left and with that it's place on his priority list. I love the gimmick but will not worry as long as there are good cigars to smoke somewhere.
