Interesting opinions here. My take is that at the B&M in my area which has these charges an arm and a leg and their hours of operation are not conducive. I mean $650/year and they close at 7:00 M-F, and 6:00 on weekends.

I'll pass.

My local B/M is going to put a private room in his establishment...Chairs, couch, TV, walkin private Humidor w/ lockers in it for the members only section.

He has two other sitting/smoking areas with TV's but this new area will be only for members. I'm signed up to be the first member. He's only gonna charge $150/yr for membership and that includes your locker.

I have 2. One at the B&M and one at a private club. Not to mention several desktops and tupperdores at home with a 28 bottle edgestar build currently underway.

Some of the cost being quoted for the lockers is insane. I pay less for a year membership to a private club with 24 hour access, huge plasma with sat tv, internet access a ton of nice furiture, fridge, poker table, and good camaraderie than some of the quotes for lockers posted in this thread! Oh and my own locker.

I have one at my local b&m. I keep cigars and booze in it. I've never had a problem with smoke in the humi affecting the cigars. Smoking is discouraged in the humi, but occasionally someone would walk on with a lit cigar.

Having a locker to store opened bottles of booze prevents me from carrying It back to the house. That's a big plus to me.

One thing I just thought of with US lockers. Do they keep track of what you keep inside or warn you not to put CC stuff in there, or perhaps is that another reason to have a locker?

Ah, well that is not a problem then :)

But not all of the lockers are, I know...

I don't know if it is a problem, but it would seem to me to be a concern?

the one I had, it was a problem. You did not realize it till I started bring stuff home. As was noted in another thread, it all depends on the ventilation.

most of the shops here have a public lounge and a private lounge... so that would be nice, but $300 to $500 for a year? $300 buys a wineador that holds more than a locker, and it lasts more than year.

Most members who frequent the shop, keep a locker to support the great guys at GSCC. It gives them extra cash flow, and you get some sticks for free here and there as a bonus. If you are thinking about the tradeoffs of keeping a locker, you are missing the point.

My local B&M has them, they rent for $150.00 a year. Alot of guys keep extra cigars in them along with a bottle of their favorite adult beverage.

....and I can assure you that I keep the lockers at 66% all the time and I check it daily to make sure it stays that way!

$50 a month for mine. They will hold about 30-50 boxes depending on size and shape and how well you play tetris, always kept 65/65. Not really sure why smoke would be an issue. Most lockers I see are sealed and have their own humidification and cooling systems.

So you are really going to charge me $50 a month for a locker at Casa Abernathy?

hmmm...$500 per year for a locker? Im glad I invested my $$ into a alvallo humi last year. Plus I control the enviroment to my satisfaction. The "opportunity cost" was well worth the investment.

At the B&M where I work, The Cigar Room, lockers are only $395 per year. You can keep as many cigars and as much liquor as you can fit. Taking into account the liquor, it pays for itself in about 10 visits. Not a bad deal. Heroes and Legacies charges over a grand for their lockers.

My local is $400 annual. They have a members only lounge and you get 20% (something like that) purchases. Its very plush with nice oversized leather lounge chairs, several plasmas, etc. One day Ill do it and itll be fantastic. For now the back porch works just fine.
